Campen is not going to be a stickler about hand placement or certain technique, as Meyer was.

I surmise that, left to his own devices, Feeney will look like he did vs Chris Jones, only more often.

Lamp's pass blocking efficiency at OLT, plus a solid, healthy Mike Pouncey at Center, will add up to the Oline play we need.

LOL at the pipe dream of Jason Peters electing to sign with LAC, or "Lord of the Dance" Sam Tevi, or "Not Ready for Prime Time" Trey Pipkins.

Does James Campen strike everyone as a PT Barnum type or something ?

The Trenchers are at it again...shufflin'...spitballin'...searchin' for a real take.

    GET REAL.
We do not play modern football.

And he’s motivated to come back and play well. That’s good news.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I loved that we drafted them when it happened. I'm sulking now but that could change. Great blocking by one or both vs Cincy would take my edge off.

you'e spot on. i was thrilled esp with watching lamp play. but i can't be up on him bc he hasn't played (no discussions about ir or ol unity = he hasn't palyed). i thought he had ver good athleticism to respond but may be too late. hope though

still like feeney. he was a great big 10. that's what we needed at the time. too much spot switching in nfl ? possible

set them loose see who wants it

Lamp had a first round grade by many draft experts. Feeney was one of the top 3 guards in that draft according to the same people, I believe. All of us were ecstatic at the picks. They still have promise. Both have flashed at times (although Lamp just cannot stay on the field).

Me too! I loved Lamp in college and I thought he could be our next LOT. He was so good at mirroring rushers in college and he was also a very good run blocker. He really had great feet.

I was dissapointed when they moved him to Guard (I still believe he would do well at OT). He's two years behind now and who knows how his footwork will be after the knee injuries?

The Lamp/Feeney draft was highly disappointing with time. If only one of those guys stepped up, we'd have won a lot more games.

A new season, new Oline coach, new offensive and blocking scheme brings renewed hope and expectations.
We’ve made draft & FA capital investments in the Oline over the past 4 years. Time for them to pay dividends.

Agreed. At the time, that looked like a Home Run.

Yep. I also was impressed by Lamp's college tape...great movement skills to keep up with speedy edge rushers...I felt Lamp could have been plugged into RT easily...an instant upgrade over Turnstile Tevi...

I want to throw this out there at everyone...

There is plenty of noise out there,
amongst punditry--including people who study film extensively,
and also know what the hell they are talking about.

There are also fans who take more than a cursory look at things--fans who do not swear on the PFF bible.

They say you are full of shit about Feeney.

Watching the games between trips to the restroom,
and taking a quick look at All-22 on Tuesday,
that is only the beginning to understanding it all.

Soon, you will be swearing on the Campen Manual of Oline Fundamentals and Zone Principles.

                          LOL!
Who are they? Who are "you"? What do they say about OL blocking?

I got more but let's skip ahead.
I believe Campen is a solid hire who will improve OL play. I'm anxious to see team activity.
