No, it was not a catch. The ball came lose when he hit the ground and he did not get control of it until after he went out of bounds.

Only in the NFL's bizarre interpretation of what constitutes a catch was the Ebron TD not a catch. That would have been a TD catch in the NFL for for the first 75-80 years of the league's existence, until they decided they need to over-analyze every aspect of the game.

It was a good win.
The Colts are a good team, Brissett is a good QB, and he'd been taking all the snaps in the offseason, as well.
Yes, we were gifted some missed FG's from Vinatieri...that won't happen often.
But the Colts were gifted the pick in the End Zone... (It was a phenomenal catch...but that pass was a force by PR), and the punt fumble.
All in all, one game in, and they won the game. And I think that's a quality Colts team, we'll have to see how they do the rest of the way.
There was some stellar play, and some stuff that needs to be improved.
The line between winning and losing in this league is RAZOR thin. We make that Tackle on Funches on the sideline, maybe it doesn't go to OT?
Came out on top for this one. Hopefully no one is overlooking the Lions for next week. You've got to bring it every game.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

The defense's performance seems pretty depressing until you look at the snap counts and you understand why.
Michael Davis was pulled early due to a hammy
Brandon Faycson playing 92 percent of snaps and looking totally unprepared to do so
No Trevor Williams
Rayshawn Jenkins playing 100 percent of snaps at FS
No snaps for Adderly
Adrian Phillips playing SS full time, showing he's better suited for a part-time specialty role
Thomas Davis playing every defensive snap, showing why he wasn't re-signed in Carolina
No Perryman
No snaps at all for Tranquill
Tillery only playing a third of snaps
The defense will improve greatly
With Perryman, T Williams and M Davis back and playing
G Brad needs to get Adderly involved starting next week
Tranquill needs to have the opportunity to show what he can do
Don't rely on T Davis ... his snap count should be cut in half, no more than 50 percent
Resign R Jenkins to a special teams role and the No. 3 back up
Tillery becomes a full time player
Nwosu gets more snaps than T Davis or K White
And when D James returns, the defense will be what we thought it would be.

Exactly.
AL post game presser said...
TScott is coming along. He got better as the game went on. Oh brother...coach speak. What I am trying like hell to be patient for. Hopefully TScott can learn how to be serviceable vs Justin Houston, Von Miller, Clelin Farrell soon.
One interesting nugget. AL says Ty Long is a good athlete...kicker, punter, thrower. Look for a fake punt sooner or later.

I like the addition of Thomas Davis....just not as a starter. Hope that gets fixed soon. The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...
Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

With regard to run D the main problem is Kyzir White. He's 100% NOT a middle linebacker. He's very slow to react and on most running plays just stands there 10 yards behind the LOS and by the time he realizes what's going on the ball is already past him. That's an experiment that just isn't going to work. Thomas Davis will be fine. He's not what he once was but he still has good instincts and can get to the ball.

Special teams had a great game, minus King's fumble. Nice to see for the most part. We can win some games with improved field position.
DL &; D tackling was rough. 1st real game following a lot of no impact-low impact offseason could be a part of it but it has to improve.
DL had a decent 1st half, crap 2nd half. It was a very good OL opponent but that's no excuse. Improvement needed.
Pass D was good, all considered. Hopefully improved health, Adderly makes them better.
O carried the game. RBs; run blocking was good-very good. Passing - not too shabby. Pass blocking was inconsistent by OTs but adequate when RB/TE blocks were included. Need to keep working on it.
We were 8th best O, 13th D v Colts.Last edited by sonorajim; 09-09-2019, 10:56 AM.
