I would think this relates to the very soft PSL sales and luxury suite sales by the Chargers. I think the Chargers are going to have issues filling a 70,000 seat stadium in LA

Carpetbaggers complaining about carpetbaggers. Have fun, NFL, getting out of the mess you owners created.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kroenke were to file a lawsuit to prohibit the Chargers from playing in his stadium, claiming he was forced to accept the agreement, that it was unfair/illegal coercion, etc. Or now if the Chargers are not living up to the agreement.

In any partnership type of an agreement, there is always an element of risk on BOTH sides. If the agreement is drawn up correctly, there should also be some type of penalty clauses, liquidated damages provisions, and even escape clause or clauses, which outline specifically what type of compensation would be due the remaining partner(s) if one or more of the other partners fails to comply with the contract.

If, for example, the Chargers are unable to sell their designated share of luxury boxes, there should be provisions which spell out whether the Spani are on the hook for all or a certain percentage of those suites, who will be compensated, and how much. You better believe there were corporation lawyers cranking out reams of paperwork to back up all of this, well before the stadium construction began.

Now, if the Spani are having cash flow issues making payments on their share of the construction, THAT is a serious issue...and yes, there should also be clauses to spell out what happens with delinquent payments or total failure to pay...all this is speculation until we find out specifically what the issue is...

Do you think winning a Super Bowl would make a difference?
