Predict Rivers' future

I sure hope he retires if we don't resign him next season. I hate seeing longtime players playing for a year or two on another team.

Everyone is buying into the comfortable narrative that the Chargers and Rivers mutually agreed to wait until the end of this season to talk contract.

What if Rivers went to the Chargers, ala Weddell, and tried to get a new deal,
only to have the Chargers say they would like to wait and see ?

This is not the sort of thing that would be discussed in public,

Right now, they have no plan B. I'd rather stick with Rivers and wait to pounce (move up) on the best qb option available in the draft, over the next 3 drafts.

If its the next draft, then so be it. Lots of teams are forced to go qb in the draft and make huge mistakes.

Rivers doesn't sound like he's done according to his post game presser. Neither do ekler and Bosa. There are some real leaders on the team. It ain't over till its over.

I don't think he’ll play anywhere else his family is too important to him and he’ll retire a Charger just a question of when.

BRADY literally had no time on some plays. He said hike and the pass rush was in his lap. Yet he threw the ball immediately perfectly to White who took the short throw for a 30yard gain.
No good run game. No good pass protection . But somehow a perfect pass and 30 yards.

It would be discussed in public if Rivers had Gordon's agents!

Who knows why he didn't sign an extension. Did he want to see if we won a super bowl (and in the preseason we were highly ranked)? Did he want to see what any other QBs got for contracts? Did he want to see how he felt after the season? Did the team want to see how he performed before extending him?
