I just listened to the interview of Lynn and at the end of it he said that he didn't know if our new OC will be a conservative play caller or aggressive! I can't believe a HC would appoint a guy as his new OC and not know about a basic thing like that..

Look at the bright side at least it tells us the OC will not be a YesMan...or we shall see.

In general terms what are the differences?

Lynn getting his own guy sounds better, too much disconnect (seemingly) at the upper levels of this team, gotta change that. Not expecting fireworks but looking to not scratch my head/yell at the screen quite so much. Also thanks and cheers for the gifs!

It will be interesting to see how different the play calling is. Obviously we can’t make huge changes mid-season but I wonder if we will see more tempo, Rivers under center more and more quick passes to compensate for the line.

The verbage to call a play can be very different.

Rivers once said the Norv offense has a lot of verbiage to call the simplest of plays.

These guys are play callers. They haven’t created an offense worthy of being called a Whiz Offense or a McCoy offense.

Norv's offense is way more under center with Power (or "Blast") as a base play (guard wraps, FB kicks). Also a lot of Iso and Sweep.

Tons of 21 and 22 personnel groupings with PA rollouts, floods, and max protect concepts.

We've been 10/11 with zone blocking for almost a decade now.

Ok imo Norv Turner was probably one of the best offensive coordinators this team has ever had but he was a horrible head coach. His play calling was a lot different as a HC then it was as a OC. Lot more predictable. Who can forget Sproles getting tackled by Ray Lewis. Any knowledgeable charger fan back then could tell when they would run a SG HB draw when Sproles was in there. Hopefully this new OC won't be so predictable like Wisenhunt and Norv Turner was.
