it's not the roster but the money on players that telesco spent on that we're feeling the burn. if we had decent run blocking we would be alright. bosa and that bum cb that didn't pan out are over $40 mil. CBs are injured so our secondary looks very green out there tonight.Originally posted by richpjr View Post
It's going to take another offseason to fix the mess of a roster that Telesco left. We got the cap fixed, now it's time to stack the roster.Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....

they still tons of holes and turnover and a have a big decision to make at the start of 2025 offseason, all of it tied to the issues created in the Telesco era, the ridiculous contract that was paid to Joey Bosa is still an issue...His contract will hit the cap at 36 mil next offseason and there is no easy way to get rid of that without taking a massive dead cap hit...nobody is going to trade for that, the only way that situation gets done in a way that is beneficial for the Chargers is if the they convince Joey that it's in everyone's best interests for him to tear up his deal...I don't think his agent will let him do that, but that's the only way to remedy the situation from the Chargers side, if they have to cut him it'll put a lot of dead $ into the 2025 cap...that's the difference between having like 110mil to spend or having like 85 mil to spend, keeping in mind that they most likely extend Slater this coming offseason, Herbert's big money finally starts to affect the cap in 2025, and you have Mack becoming a FA as well, I don't know about you guys but at this point I'd love to see Mack retire as a Charger, he's just an awesome guy and an ageless wonder, the guy still has a lot of tread left and he's the kind of person you want on your team...a decision will have to be made on pipkins too, I can't imagine them paying him the last year of his contract, he's not worth 8mil for 2025 season, I'm thinking he's a prime cut or trade candidate if someone is desperate for a guy to throw out there at RT and teams are always desperate for tackles...Originally posted by richpjr View Post

of the one year redemption tour guys that Hortiz brought in which will return?
I wonder if Fulton gets an extension?
I feel like Samuel and Bozeman will be allowed to hit FA.
I wonder if Ford gets an extension?
I feel like Fox and Palmer will be allowed to hit FA.
I think Chark, Hurst, Tomlinson, Perryman, and others will all be gone too...
Yet again important targets in Free Agency will be center, guard, and TE
will Derwin James be asked to take a pay cut? I have a hard time imagining that the Chargers would let Molden and Fulton walk and keep James for 20mil..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Looks like an $11 million cap hit for his signing bonus and restructure if we cut Bosa, but a cap savings of $25 million - easy decision based on his injury history.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

I believe a lot of the other players will be allowed to hit FA so we can rack up some compensatory picks.

25 million to put towards the roster improvements or 36 million cap for Bosa to be on the sidelines or box suite.

11mil? that's not as bad as I thought, yeah, if it's 11mil the decision has already been made, unfortunately Joey as talented as he is, he's just too injury prone, the guy can't stay on the field to save his life...Originally posted by richpjr View Post

They are green but I like what I'm seeing from Hart/Still. The playing time they get now will probably really help them in 25/26.Originally posted by gzubeck View Post

We can only get as many as 4. I mean that's a good amount but that's the limit a team can get per year.Originally posted by richpjr View Post

The Chiefs sent the Titans a conditional 4rth round pick for Deandre Hopkins this morning...
How does this affect the Mike Williams deal? The 49ers, the Steelers, the Bucs, the Chargers, and a couple of other teams are all still looking to add a WR before the deadline..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post.
