It's possible but I won't bank it. If he does start week 1, he won't be 100 percent, I will bank that. I think the Chiefs are preparing for a down year, a rebuild of sorts, they traded McDuffie.

I think what the Chiefs will do is what they always do. They will draft players that are creeps and thugs off the field that they can get at a bargain for their talent in hopes for a quick reload. Justin Houston, rashee rice, tyreek hill, Kareem hunt, Lanarius sneed, the list goes on and on. No one ever calls them on it in this era of the nfl being so socially conscious or at least saying they are. It puzzles me.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

No way they're "preparing for a down year" with Reid and Mahomes. They'll retool like they done over the past 7-8 years.

Two #1’s and $120M for 2026. That doesn’t sound like a slow rebuild to me.

I’m not buying the hometown spin this is good for the future of the Chargers. It definitely isn’t.

Somebody with sense seems to be running the Raider franchise instead of Bowlcut.

Great coaching hire, great QB prospect, another #1, and an enormous amount of cap space to load up on talent and depth.

Compare that to the Cap hell when Harbaugh and Hortiz started with the Chargers.
That's because the Turds fired Telasco after just one season.

In 2024, Stroud had the worst ranked OL among playoff teams. His 2023 and 2025 OL’s have been volatile and piss poor as well.

Despite that, he’s won 3 playoff games to Herbert’s zero.

IMHO the mark of an O-line during the playoffs is the run game.

Look at the running game in recent playoff years. Texans had 164 rush yards to beat the Steelers, 168 yards to beat the Chargers, 141 yards to beat the Bills.

Herbert's playoff OL and run game were weak and needed him to carry the offense. Never had Slater nor Alt in a playoff game. Never had more than 88 rushing yards in a playoff game for support.

              How about defense?

People consider the Texans a Super Bowl caliber Defense for the past few seasons now.

During the Staley era we had historic worse defenses. Didn't get a top10 defense until Minter got on board.

Damn Eagles signed Jordan Davis to a 3yr/78m extension with 65m guaranteed. That is crazy.

                  2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
                  3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
                  4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Their season pretty much conformed to my expectations...although didn't see Denver asserting themselves.

I guess not getting bitch slapped in the Super Bowl will help them this year.
                      That's about it!

Mahomes will not have an off-season to work with any new receiver, and the collection of old ones just ain't that good.
His go to guy, Kelce, .... will be either gone, or brow beat by Taylor Swift, suffering a further massive decline, compounding matters.
The idiot's head wasn't in it last year; just imagine how focused this guy will be married, when he's told he needs to follow the perpetual Swifty tour rather than prepare for the upcoming season.
                      Poor bastard!
Rasheed Rice ... he is nice, but people went way overboard with him when things were rosy.
Maybe they get J. Love, and finally have someone to take notice of ... but their other massive holes will then be put off for days 2 and 3.

On D, who scares you .... maybe Chris Jones, on a good day ...he"ll be 32 years old in July.
McDuffie is gone ... the person who will replace him will not be as good.
                      ,
They will take McDuffie's money and bring in someone decent in free agency ...and then the assortment of I hope he still has something left dudes, ... a staple of McVeachS the last 2 - 3 season.

Yes, if they have a draft for the ages ... they'll compete for the division. Anything is possible. If they revert back to the fairy land they enjoyed of no serious injuries all year ... sure!

We saw what happened when their tremendous luck ran out ... and they had to deal with a string of injuries that most NFL franchises encounter.

On the other hand, punked by even the Raiders, without a fully recovered Mahomes and hit by injuries ... I can see that.
I do not see KC resurging in 2026 either.

Jones and Kelce are both showing age. CB is a problem. OL is not good. Edge is pedestrian. Losing other players. Nah, they are looking at 3rd or 4th place again imo

I don’t buy into the swift tour stuff. Most to all players have families or girlfriends. He’s not going to follow her tour everywhere when he should be training and she won’t ask him to.

The Raiders have a plethora of resources. The best QB in the draft and the #14 overall pick, plus a boatload of additional picks plus $100M in FA spending. I don't think they'll win more games than the Chargers or Broncos, but I see 8-9 wins as entirely possible. And with Mahomes missing the first half of the season, I expect the Raiders will win more games than the Chiefs.
