I look at those sack numbers and I think - Rivers has always been praised for his quick release - how will those numbers be with a QB that has an average release?

Those aren't going up each year. The years are out of order.

Roo, there's also ANOTHER way to look at it...how will those numbers be with a QB that moves very well in the pocket, can extend plays, and scramble for a lot of first downs?

Well it depends. I would wager more sacks and more chances of getting hurt if the QB tries to extend plays too much or hold onto the ball longer. Also Rivers was one of the best at moving inside the pocket, if not the best.

You know what I find funny is that Rivers never actually used to be so turnover prone. He started in 2006 and did not throw a redzone interception until 2008 against the Bills (7th game of the season). He also never threw more than 2 interceptions a game until 2012 (that 24-0 game against the Broncos and Manning).

I posted an article today about Rivers reason for wanting to go to Indy and in that article it said from justTevi and Scott alone he was pressured 88 times...which was 2nd worst in the league from OTs. Can't imagine who was worse.
So It's not just sacks.

LT Gaither (4 games) / LT Haslam, RT Clary allowed 49 sacks. Not every snap was a sack, most were pressures.
THAT was Rivers worst OL but there were other contenders. The 2019 OL was a little below avg for what PR played behind with the Chargers.

His best OLs featured LG Dielman- C Hardwick- RG Goff. LTs Oben- McNeill, RTs Olivea- Clary 2006-2009.

What about my statement was wrong? Did he throw a redzone interception before the Bills game in 2008? And did he throw more than two interceptions in a game before the 2012 Broncos game?

Hard to say, but if you look at Taylor's stats as a starter at Buffalo, he had a very low TD to pick ratio, unlike Rivers last year, and in some other years. So, I would say that we would have won at least SOME of those games when Rivers panicked, played hero ball, and kept slinging up the rock into coverage for multiple picks that lost us games...

The correct answer is Taylor, behind that line, would have won zero of those games;
and he would have played perfect ball too.....that will be the frustrating part of next season.
