NY Giants gave up a lot to get Manning family Pedigree. He was a sure thing with NFL family support. Giants could have Drafted Rivers or Rothlesburger and kept all their picks.

Giant knew from experience they could find everything else once they had the right QB. Just Think who was possibly consulting “Biig Tuna Paecells”.

Do you honestly think Chargers Brass has that kinda vision.. They to had the wright QB and even RB, but managed to find a way to let the GM and Coach fight over who was better for the team. Chargers are drama Queens who cannot get out of their own way. The have never had the formula to build a Super Bowl Team.

Rivers, brees, and p. manning were clearly more consistently good than E. manning BUT e.manning was far more clutch in big games than his brother...... he won on a horrible college team..... and yes, their defense was a big reason they won those 2 SB.... but e. manning made at least one very clutch play to win both of those SB's...... on the tyree catch, manning had to make a miracle escape what looked like a game ending sack..... and then make the miracle throw and tyree made the helmet catch....... with harrison draped all over him..... clutch all the way around....

but yes you have to have a defense/pass rush to keep you in the game so your clutch HOF QB can make the game winning play and eli did that......

but yes again on a day to day basis, rivers and p. manning were much more consistently better..... Rivers, brady, brees and p. manning were the most machine like QB's since Marino and Fouts.....

Have heard this about TT from many. Wouldn't be surprised if true, but at the same time, look at the draft picks in terms of trenches - we have been found wanting. So even outside of FA ,where TT supposedly excels (through the draft), he has struggled in the trenches. Unless the Spani clan is also making all the draft calls, there is no excuse.

But yes, ultimately it's all about these crappy owners more so than anything else. Not only are they some of the cheaper owners out there, especially when it comes to non cap related expense, but at the same time they added on more debt. So by moving they increased equity in the long term potentially, but not liquidity in terms of cash flow in the short term. Plus they have to pay back the relocation fee. So they are penny pinching even more now. Who gets screwed? We the fans as usual, who get to endure the shit show.

So none of this is really all that much of a surprise.

On a side note, I get that forums are an old thing now for NFL teams and many have been shut down. But you'd think 20K a year to keep the CMB open would have been worth their while to keep their few remaining fans content. But nope, that had to be shut down too.

This is just to say Thank God for TPB! The Charger faithful find a way to stay fans despite the owners' moronic decisions. Spanos and co clearly don't take pride in winning. It's all just about the bottom line. I wish they were forced to sell so they could release us from this purgatory.

The only difference between Rivers and E. Manning is that Manning is 8-4 in playoffs with 2 SB. Rivers is 5-6 with nothing.
In my view, Marino and Fouts were the best QB ever and they are 11-15 in PO with only one SB appearance, a loss, an atrocious one.
So, the QB is not the most part of a championship team.

PR can’t kick field goals in the playoffs nor can he tackle running backs or secure interceptions etc etc, when called up on the man stepped up, he just can’t do everything.
