I wonder how silly this guy feels not giving Herbert even half a chance! Herd should give this guy a chance to redeem himself....but he probably will pull a lynn and say he'll have sophmore season blues....LOL!

Thats a hell of a comparison.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

All he said was Elway was at the Oregon game checking him out.. He didn't compare the two.

so your inference is that if Phil had Pep last year that he wouldn't have earned the wrath of so many posters here @tPBs ??

Cowherd has always been a big fan of Herbert as a draft prospect and obviously now as a professional

compared him to an under development Trevor Lawrence

there's currently Tyron Johson and Jaylen Guyton who are the speedsters. I dont think there's a need for speed WRs at this time. Be careful what you wish for...cough...travis benjamin...cough. And its seem Herbert has built quite the rapport with both of them having worked with them on the 2nd team a lot.

Electric, your wish has already been granted. As Jubei notes, he has Ty Jo and Jay Guy. Both of these WRs are young UDFAs who spent their first year on practice squads and their 2nd season becoming acclimated to the NFL. They haven't begun to reach their full potential, we are just starting to see it though in these past few games. Look for them over the next two games. Herbert developed a rapport with both in training camp, they were all working together on the 2nd team, and that has allowed them to mesh once Herbert became the starter and these two got more game snaps. Another nice thing about these two guys is that they are going to be cheap for awhile. They both run the 40 in the 4.3s and they are young! We've got the WR corps in place right now, with KA and MW followed by these two speedsters. Herbert and these guys are going to do a lot of damage to rival defenses over the next several seasons. I think KJ Hill is starting to figure it out too, and the Chargers could have one of the most loaded WR corps in the league.

I'm saying they specifically brought pep in to help fix what they saw as deficiencies in Herbert's game, and he did a super job of getting him ready. As far as whether or not pep would have made a difference with Phil, that's tough to say, as he is a long time vet who had tons of success doing things his way for a long time. I think alot of his issues last year came from covering up bad coaching decisions, which we are seeing this year with a rookie in those same spots... Last year we would have seen Rivers spike the ball to stop the clock with no time outs, then throw a pick and lose. This year we see e eryone look confused and the clock run out. Result is the same, but it looked like Rivers not shitty coaching to put them in the spot.

Okay if these are the guys, let's hope they progress towards a Tony Martin, Alvin Harper type WR and fill this role. It seems we believe they are, or could be.
