Grade:B. This kid has all the tools. Give him a little time and he can develop into a big-time quarterback. There's a lot to work with there. Yeah, he's got some mechanical issues but he can get those fixed.
I'm a Ducks fan and I'm dissapointed. Time to start hoping he'll surprise me.
I feel pretty good about the pick. I'm a bit of a Ducks fan too. My mother grew up in Eugene and a couple of her siblings were Ducks. My uncle remained a fan his entire life, though he moved to the Bay Area during the war and stayed there the rest of his life. Then there is Fouts, my favorite Chargers player ever, coming from the Ducks to completely change the fortunes of the Chargers in his era.
Who could be a really good QB coach to bring this kid up to speed with the techniques? Who is the QB coach now?

They need to really work on his technique. Fix that, and he'll play better. Don't even plan to play him this year, give him a chance to develop and work on his game and it should work out.
Now, do I think they will really do that? Probably not.
Agreed - they will need to work with him on a faster release or it will lead to a lot of fumbles in the NFL. Certainly has the physical tools though. The pick is not going to generate as much buzz as our new uniforms, so what is that saying about it??
I guess they will have to lower the costs of the PSL's... Again.

My gut told me Tua....made too much sense rebranding, but Miami took him. My head told me Simmons...special player. My heart told me Herbert...I think he was under coached, and has the right mental makeup(humility) to be fixed, while Tyrod gets his shot.
I believe.
The kid played under 3 different coaching staffs, and adapted and played well under all of them.
