We may do something at LT - also think there is a thought that with more mobility behind center we might not need the stud LT that would cost us 15 mil a year or more.

Yeah that's a bummer. They didn't give up much but I know it would be hard for us to offer a new contract for Williams with all the extensions this team needs.

Do we trade for Williams? Sign Peter's and hope he can stay healthy for 2 years?

            What do you guys think?

pipkins with a year of strength and the added value of the experience gained last yr (even though they ideally wanted a red shirt year injuries forced them to play him). i stand by my call last year that Pipkens will develop into a stud LT. oh yeah, he now has a OL coach with a track record of developing lineman.

The asking price was a 2nd
I would believe a 4th and a 3rd is slightly less than 2nd (but very very close to the same value in terms of pick value)

So looks like we’re one injury away on this patch O-line before catastrophic failure again. Luckily we have QBs that can run.

It's like a cartoon. Every year they mock OT as our biggest need. Every year we disregard it (except of our rnd 3 project last year) to the frustration of everyone.

I am a firm believer that Pipkins will start at LT.

With better protection on the right side, and more mobile QB's in the backfield) no matter which of the 3 are playing, the protection will be better.

I'm pretty sure I remember this right, but Pipkins was our 2nd highest rated Offensive Lineman last year? As a rookie, from a DII school, playing at LT in the NFL, with an immobile QB, and a revolving door of teammates beside him.

He will struggle at times, but I think he's going to end up good. We're not drafting a LT this year, because we drafted him last year.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
