IMV, Tillery was a late 3rd round talent and barely heard of Trey Pipkins but as you I want them to excel and prove me horribly wrong.
TPB comes before the player or my at times overinflated ego.
I didn't want Tillery. I just found a distant thread on a different site about the prospects of the Chargers draftingTillery: pretty much everyone said hell no!

It will be interesting, either way, how he turns out.

Can't say I didn't want him but he wasn't a target of mine at any point during the draft. But I do hope he takes the next step up this season.

Tillery looked lost to me in 2019
I don't completely blame him because the whole team seemed to be in a funk, the on-boarding was shit essentially.
defensive leadership looked absent with James on the bench (Murray should help if that happens again).
I think we tend to underestimate the transition process for DL and just expect them to pick up where they left off.
I had JT rated as a backend 1st round talent that fit a need (interior passrush) 3T.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him play up to his draft position at any point in the season.
        P1. Block Destruction - Ogbonnia
        P2. Shocking Effort - Eboigbe
        P3. Ball Disruption - Ford
        P4. Obnoxious Communication - Matlock

I’m hoping for the same thing. Shit I hope he is a 10 consecutive time All-Pro starting in 2021 for us.

Without the trade for K. Murray, the Chargers could have had L. Shenault at 37 and J. Jones at 71.
Was the LB's situation worst than OL and WR ?
Quality of LBs was down after 1st round ?
Never take a WR in the first ?
What the Chargers might have looked with Shenault and Jones ?

We got the better end of the deal.

Oh man, I wanted us to draft DT, FS and OT with our first three picks last year, but the guys I wanted were Dexter Lawrence (who the Giants took before we had a chance to take), Juan Thornhill (who we passed on for Nasir Adderley), and Yodny Cajuste (who we passed on for Trey Pipkins). Exact right positions, exact right order, just not the ones I wanted.

On the other hand, I was ecstatic over rounds 2-5 of our 2017 draft (Lamp, Feeney, Jenkins, King) and that has only partially panned out, so what do I know?

My 2019 1st three rounds would have been...
                  1) Risner #7
                  2) Thornhill #9
                  3) Dean #11

                  My #9, #11, #13 overall prospects.

2018 was excited for Derwin, Kyzir, Qberry, & Jackson.

2017 same. Nailed 2-5 just on field results have been mixed.

I've meant to ask this question for awhile. Imagine the Chargers had lost to the 'Fins in week 4 last year, and they are drafting at No.5 instead of 6. Who does Telesco draft: Tua or Herbert?

Risner was my first choice too.

I'd put my money on Tua.
