If we trade MW, does his new team have to pay him his salary( $10, 15 million, whatever it is)?
Can't imagine ANYONE throwing that kind of money at Mike.
Now, if we could get a 4th I'd take it.

If you want a 1st round OT, reach, or forever hold your peace.
Darrisaw, Slater, Cosmi, Mayfield, Eichenberg, and Leatherwood are usually all gone before pick 44.
Maybe I'm shit at evaluating olinemen....or maybe the traits I value, and the ones I think are less important, don't always line up with the norm. Darrisaw does have nice length, power...and moves well at times...but he takes plays off, and get's lazy. It's on the tape...and it is a huge red flag in my book...that's not to say the right coach and environment can't burn the (sometimes) lack of effort out of him. I still wouldn't pick him till the second, though. JMOAdopted Bolt: Kimani Vidal RB

If you're the Chargers, you come to MW and tell him, "Look, we don't think you're worth 15.6 million. If you don't come down, we will release you and you will have to let the free market determine your value." If MW and his agent have to compete against all the other WR FA's... his leverage reduces and he may end up with a cheap contract ($5 mil). But if MW and the Chargers could find an interested partner (say, the Colts) that would love to have PR's old target back for $7.5 million (rather than resign 31 year-old TY Hilton for $11 mil... ) then you might get a 3rd rounder out of some team.

Historically, players don’t tend to deliver the haul of draft picks that we fans tend to think they deserve, unless Bill O’Brien or Bobby Beathard is giving up those draft picks. I don’t see giving up a third rounder to have the right to pay Mike Williams $15.6 million.

Your projected contract $ amounts for prospective FA is on the exceptional low side and not likely for most.Last edited by like54ninjas; 01-03-2021, 11:31 AM.My 2021 Adopt-A-Bolt List

Next year will be a new regime so a new GM is needed as well I say. Telesco has had more than enough time.Last edited by Leslie Grossman; 01-03-2021, 09:16 PM.
