Not sure they will though. They picked up his option for a reason.

Just don't tell me that TE or WR is more of a NEED than OT, IOL, Edge CB and probably another DT for rotational depth (replace a guy like Square)
To me, its a fallacy that the Chargers would need a Pitts or WR to give Herbert more weapons is looking at it wrong. Build the OL first, and average WRs are better. You keep this OL that is bottom of the league - won't be able to run the ball, pass protection, etc. Keep trying until you get it right!

If Pitts or a WR is the pick - so be it and hopefully it is totally a talent driven pick and not this idea that Herbert needs weapons.

If we get Pitts, there arent going to be enough balls to go around. Paying Keenan, MW and Henry big money and Pitts as a first rounder?
In that case i dont see us going for Pitts or any WR in the first if MW is tied up for four more years. Id expect an EDGE rusher, CB or OL in the first round.

The thing to me with Williams (Turner and Haywar too) - if you release them for cap space in free agency - probably best to use Free agency to fill the position of the player released. You are releasing Hayward to save 9m but also get a better player for the money or even cheaper. Same with Williams and Turner.

There will be plenty of time to debate off season strategy,
including FA, draft, talent level.
Looking forward to it.
