He needs to get a lot stronger and that might take 2-4 years of getting very little out of him.
he will be done with his rookie deal by then. Pass.

He is worth making a move for.

I don't see Slater as a OT at NFL level.
What make people so excited about Slater, imo is his agility, technique and awareness. He should be very good guard in zone blocking. But he seems to lack sand in his pants to anchor well. Going against NFL level players and coaches will attack that weakness. At least that is what I would do against him on pass downs. I would ask my D-Line to not get fancy with moves with him because he can handle that. I would just say get into his chest and bully him backwards. Wear him out and then get into your bag of moves here or there.

With Sewell-OT, I can't bully him. He will bully my guy. And Sewell is agile enough to swat away your finesse moves.

So to me it's Sewell in a class of his own.
And then the rest of these guys.

Darrisaw won't get bully but he seem to lack some awareness and I am wondering what he is seeing. If your going to zone block in run game you need to see things well. And in pass blocking you need to be able to indentify blitz and stunts and pick up your guy.

Anyways I'm only sold on Sewell with that 1st rd pick.

I am looking at CB, DL, LB or a skill player on offense with pick #13.

I'd rather address some oline needs with some durable veteran free agents who have proven that can be solid starters in the NFL. And not use the #13 trying to patch up o-line.

In Rd2-4 if Oline is BPA at one of those picks.
      Then grab that player.
Rd 5-7 and udfa add competition if you like a prospect.
There’s not enough prospects in total, that im sold on at 13 so I’m anticipating a having to reach regardless if no trade scenario is presented
including those other positions, do you have enough prospects in your cluster at 13 given the worst case scenario happens and like only 2 or 3 qbs go off the board?
      G-Ro knows.

Yes. There will be a very good player at #13.

But lets says hypothetically, I had to pick Offensive Line at #13. I was not allowed to go any other way.
And Sewell-OT is off the board.

Then I am taking Creed Humphrey-OC

Who has it better than us?

Can't trade down and you have to take Oline.
              Sewell is gone.

If I have to take one, I'm trading down to do it and get an extra pick. I'm not drafting Creed at 13 if I can get him at 20 or so.
                Teams gonna want QBs.

And depending on FA I may go with AVT if we sign a OC or even Slater if there after trading down.

Slater. Really played well vs top NFL level edge talent.
In upper half of 1st you have to look at the "must have" trinity, QB, LOT, Edge. Everybody else is - every year. We have QB & Edge, no starting quality LOT. Other options are Darrisaw , Vera-Tucker, Little.
Of course, a FA LOT signing would open simple BPA selection.

                    Slater is over rated.
I would be shocked if he succeeded as a Left Tackle in the NFL.

In the OLINE only scenario with Sewell gone, I would select......

At worst he is a great OG in a ZBS which is what we will be. Same as AVT is slated to be.

Sounds like you watched that video with that old school 33 year scout with the Giants and suddenly saying he is over rated.

He'll be picked early 1st and will start for whoever takes him. He's a clear upgrade at LT for LAC but can play any OL slot.
