We have some TEs on the roster, i wouldn’t jump to call that group a strength personally. They weren’t scaring anyone imo.

We have 3 of them including a starter - now 4 . We needed more Edge rushers in a big way. We were near the bottom in pass rush. You can't be happy w our edge situation aside from Bosa

Most teams hit on a lot of their first- and second-round picks. It's the third round where a GM makes his money. How has Tom Telesco done in the third round since he was named GM in January 2013? Not very well.


2021: WR Josh Palmer (3A, pick 77), TE Tre' McKitty (3B, pick 97)

2020: none (2nd and 3rd round picks traded to the Patriots in exchange for the 23rd pick in the first round, used to select Kenneth Murray)

2019: T Trey Pipkins (pick 91)

2018: DT Justin Jones (pick 84)

2017: G Dan Feeney (pick 71)

2016: C Max Tuerk (pick 66)

2015: CB Craig Mager (pick 83)

2014: G Chris Watt (pick 89)

2013: WR Keenan Allen (pick 76)


Allen is the only difference-maker in there. Jones and Pipkins are the only other players still on the team.

I agree about WR depth. Disagree on TE depth.

Cook Parham Anderson and now McKitty . I can't even name 3 edge rushers on the side across from Bosa.Frakell, Nwosu ??

Despite your spin there are still 4 of them. More depth than many of our other positions esp edge rusher. Can you even name 3 aside from Bosa? I can't Mckitty has an UDFA like grade too. Pt is again we needed edge rush help more . What many draft analysts had as our top need in fact.

More bodies but not a single proven TE after Cook. I don't know if this guy is any good but I do know they have need at the TE position.

It was a 2ndary need. OT, CB and edge were our primary needs per Draftek

If you think about it aren't half those failures offensive guard draft picks? That might explain why a ton of guards have dropped out of the third round into the 4th and 5th rounds. Must be a high failure rate there in the draft vs. say defensive players in the second and third rounds. Just a hunch!
