If Aboushi comes back healthy he should be the starter at RG. He played great before the knee. Schofield is serviceable enough to be Oday’s back up, especially if Jaimes progresses.

In other words, the guard situation does not warrant a priority draft pick. Save those for CB, DT, EDGE, and RT.

Out of those four positions, at least one will be solved through FA. Quality edges and tackles are hard to find in FA so I’m guessing they will be our first 2 picks.

Jordan Davis is big enough that you could split him in 2 and 2 teams could take him

I really like Bryan Cook (safety for Cincinati) in the 4th or 5th.

a lot of times it’s hard to find quality in FA period. And if you do, you often have to pay up the nose for it. I’m not sure I even put Edge on this list anymore, Nwosu has arrived and if the chargers don’t come to that realization then someone else will reap the benefits of all the development the chargers have already put into him. CB/DT or DT/CB is the biggest glaring issue in whatever order you think is most relevant to how the draft falls to the chargers. I still think Matt Fieler is destined to be our RT, his body type from a leverage POV seems to fit the profile better. He has struggled against squat low center of gravity DTs this year. According to PFF his best stats while at Pittsburg came at RT before they moved him inside out of necessity. It’s easier to find a solid guard in FA than a RT so if we already have one on the roster it would make sense to slide him over there, resign oday for RG and go get another veteran for LG, it’s cheaper and it saves us from drafting RT high which allows the team to focus on defense. I’m still drafting another OT but later on in rounds 4-6.

Defensive pieces will have to help us deal with a bit of yin/yang.

Next year we have mobile qb's/rpo/outside zone on the schedule.
                SF. AZ. JAC. KC.

                Also power run.
                CLE. TEN. IND. SEA.

How will heavy DTs, big LBs deal with Play Action/Drive Blocking and chasing ?

Draft picks and cap space are precious assets.
                Choose wisely.

Also, make a serious effort to understand Staley concepts.
                Mock/sign per what you want,
but also predicting what we will do.

                JMO.

And as always, you have to stock up on talent to beat the division leader, KC, first.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

So that is why I suggest Nakobe.
                    Patrick. Kelce. Tyreek.

Vs power he sidesteps blocks well,
                    and gets to the football.

We have got to find a new role for K9...uber athletic/sensitive soul.

beach. ninja we'll just have to see how this plays out.

I see Nakobe as superior due to ILB tasks. Lloyd is superior athletically.

At the end of the day we really do need more horses on defense, guys like campbell, hall, ogbongbemiga, covington, gaizano, fehoko, are fine if we had one Or two of them in the rotation but not so many, too much of this is going on on the entire charger roster from the secondary to the running backs to the offensive line it’s evident everywhere, you need ownership that is willing to pay for quality depth and not just splash with highest paid defensive end and highest paid center to quell questions about being cheap everywhere else.

Sounds like Jameson Williams will be available at #17. He might even slide out of the first round. Torn ACL.
