We could have taken Darian Kinnard at 3-79 and kicked Feiler out to RT. Out starting OL would have been Slater-Johnson-Linsley-Kinnard-Feiler.

How would a ten yard split mean on many plays he would get there first? The forty is the standard of fast. Ten yard split matters or they wouldn't measure it but its not the forty. Plus. Mager was a small school project. Woods is a D1 full timer that played in real conference title games and real bowl games vs real talent. They never saw Mager vs anyone good.

Last time the Chargers had a ballhawk at safety....I cannot recall. Now the Chargers have one w/ 4.3 speed and 6'2".

I like it because Derwin James needs help in the backfield and I am concerned about our LB coverage ability, but not any longer with this kind of deep speed in dime and nickel packages. I thought I wanted S Jesse Bates as a Free Agent from the Bengals. Instead, the Chargers got someone faster.

Bottom line, I am of the opinion, this pick frees Derwin from the five different jobs Coach said Derwin was doing during the 2021 season.

Agreed. How is taking a safety, now possibly the third best safety on the Chargers roster, a bad move? An insurance policy, should Nasir Adderley or Derwin James either go down is prudent. Nasir is UFA in 2023.
