I know this is a central issue in your world.
If I am not mistaken, Staley mentioned JT Woods even today, and Trey McKitty, but not Isaiah Spiller.
Damn wasted draft picks.
We need to marry our scouting department and our coaching staff !

If you look at that year ,it looks like 28 teams whiffed in the 4th round.
It's just not as easy as some of you think it is but always want to say Telesco stinks. Sure I'll say he could be better but there aren't many teams hitting on 4th and 5th rounders.
It's pretty random.
Hitting on Salyer in the 6th is random as well but we did it.

I don't blame Telesco for our playoff loss. His 6th round OG got us there.

UGA DT Carter booked and released; back in Indy … One player who clearly won’t be working out with the defensive line at the combine later today will be Georgia DT Jalen Carter. Of course, Carter had already said he wasn’t going to work out today, but rather would do so at the Bulldogs’ pro day later this month. Carter, though, is reportedly back in Indianapolis this morning and presumably will be on the sidelines this afternoon when the other DL work out after he was booked on charges of reckless driving and street racing in Athens late last night and was released just before midnight after paying a $4K bond. The charges stem from an incident in which two people were killed in a car accident while driving back to Athens from a national championship celebration in Atlanta in January and Carter has denied the charges. In fact, it’s not clear at this time, what the whole incident will do to Carter’s draft status. He had been considered to be the top-rated non-QB prospect for the upcoming draft, if not the top overall prospect period and this sure isn’t going to help. The fact that Carter has been less than forthcoming, both to police and reportedly to NFL execs who he had met with prior to revelation earlier this week that he was under investigation, also isn’t going to help. At the same time, though, the charges are a misdemeanor, not a felony, although there is a max sentence of 1-year in jail for the charges. And while he won’t be working out he will still be doing team interviews today and tomorrow where he will have a chance to do some damage control.

Combine workouts begin; final group arrives … All four positional groupings are now in Indianapolis for this year’s scouting combine. The offensive linemen and RBs, the last group to arrive, will go through registration and orientation today, while the QBs and receivers go through their general medical exams, the defensive backs and specialists will have their orthopaedic exams and meet with the NFLPA, and the defensive linemen and LBs will be on the field for the physical testing and positional drills; they’ll also be measured and weighed. The on-field testing will be televised by the NFL Network beginning at 3 PM ET later this afternoon. And remember, as we noted yesterday, while everybody wants to run a 4.3 40 the real goal for the players and the scouts is to check off boxes; are they in fact fast enough for their position and/or current grade. As usual, we’ll be tracking the highs and lows of today’s workout and measurement session.

Too many poor decisions and choices.
The year he drafted Mike Williams I was all in on drafting a QB to replace Rivers. I thought Rivers was on the downside and it was time. On the board was Watson and Mahomes. He did end up eventually with Herbert as Rivers replacement, so he at least prevented having to find a franchise QB which is the cornerstone of a football team.
Fluker was a very strange pick. All the best OL had already been drafted. So he should take the #1 at another spot. He didn't. His trade ups have never worked out. Gordon, Attachou, Two, Murray. Yet he possible would trade up again this draft.
He has too much FOMO in how he decides to do thinks.
He followed Fulker with the Verrett pick who was not worth a 1st Rd pick.
He followed the Verrett pick with the Gordon trade up.
None of these players were worth the pick at the time of drafting. He over drafted all of them.
Telesco has drafts with a lot of FOMO attached to his moves.
He sucks. Staley has really help him. These two drafts of OL in Rd 1. And Staley saying about last year's pick...."that what he wasn't going to do was reach for a tackle". That comment had me thinking of the Fluker pick.
I expect a good draft in Rd1 and Rd2 because of Staley.
Then hopefully they find some players Rd3-7. Very little difference between pick 85 and pick 185.
It the top 64 that matter. Got to hit on those Rd1 and 2.
Who has it better than us?

We don't need to move up for the first rounder...we may need to move up for the second rounder IMHO. What we need is 3-4 players who actually contribute and most likely START for our team.Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....
