    We call that 'BEEF'.

    It's what's for Day 3.

And we prioritize Beef over Gazelles.

Henley looks like the stud we wanted. Shows us alot of teams we’re going to take him right after we picked.

can this be another Fred Warner but a linebacker that can cover in a division of Travis Kelce Michael Mayer and Greg Dulcic you’re going to need that.

I like our linebacker better then the one that Dan Campbell took and traded up for in the 3rd round.

            Random observations, so far...

Gotta admit...while we consistently passed on guys I fell in love with, I like the fact that we picked these boys OVER them, as opposed to missing out by a few picks, and settling for these players...these are the guys we wanted...I can make peace with that.

We have gotten some good work done, addressing depth and future development at positions even us fans recognized as areas of need.

Gotta admit, I slept on these guys...I did mock Tuli a few times, but hardly gave the LBs a look after Campbell, Sanders, and Simpson...kinda wondered if we didn't like our young guys, so wasn't looking hard at the later part of the draft...but I do remember some on here liked Henley...nice eyes...I am liking this kid a lot.

RB is my focus round 4...I just don't see a TE that moves the needle...I know some like Kuntz...he is interesting, big, crazy athletic testing...but when I watched the tape, he looked a little gangly/clumsy...not a fluid athlete...but hell, he might still be getting use to all that growth...6'8" takes awhile to grow to, lol

Andrew Voorhees would be an awesome scratch and dent special...and Luke Wypler is a nice center prospect still available.

WR is awful crowded, but we do lack a shifty slot receiver, outside of what Slayer does....and we need a returner. Charlie Jones is a kid I am really high on, especially for the future...I have called him Cooper Kupp with wings on his feet.

We could use a slot corner...how bad is Clarke Phillips III at tackling? How about LT's nephew Tre'?

No DT's jump off the page...maybe Cameron Young? Little disappointed on that front...I hope AJ and Tito are rehabbing well.

I know we hit Edge already, but I really like Ade Adebawore...would be a steal in the 4th.

Here is a list of guys I am pining for...not so much a big board...just players I like for us..

            Roschon Johnson RB
            Chase Brown RB
            Ade Adebawore DT/Edge
            Clarke Phillips DB
            Luke Wypler C
            Andrew Voorhees G
            Antonio Mafi G
            Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson CB
            Antonio Johnson Safety
            Josh Whyle TE
            Eric Gray RB
            Zach Kuntz TE
            Cameron Young DT

Kelee Ringo CB- What the hell...who has the dirt on this kid? I didn't like him in the first...but how can you not consider this a steal? Do we get on the horn with Kirby, get the gritty on this kid, and pull off a late round steal ala Jamaree Salyer? Whatever his warts, kid has a championship pedigree, and cut his teeth in the SEC...again, did I miss some injury news? Something on the police blotter? Gotta put him on the list...

                  3. bit of a surprise in the 3rd
                  1) The receiver seems to match with what Moore seems to like and what we were missing last year with the YAC abilities. But it’s not like we haven’t had a size type given that Palmer was also drafted in 2021.

                  2) We needed depth at Edge. And given that our HC also runs the defense, I doubt TT drafted someone that Staley didn’t think was a scheme fit. Especially given the Morgan Fox comparison some have made

                  3) Yes this was a surprise. Also a surprise that this was a value pick for Telesco in the 3rd round in a very long time lol.

Henly is an off-ball LB. He'll eventually take over for K9.
As people have mentioned, he played WR and safety early for Nevada. IIRC, he played a number of other positions too... either for the Wolf Pack or in high school. Athletic and smart.
He's only played LB for 2 years now. He's relatively new to the position. Which to me is exciting... it means he's not done improving/learning. I think he has instincts and smarts.
Two of my favorite off-ball LB's were Henly and Overshown. After that, I think the talent falls off @off-ball LB.

IMO, Henly won't be uber-physical (like Perryman)... but he should be able to do exactly what Staley wants (and Tranquill/K9 are weak at)... read and react. Know their responsibilities and get there quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if Henly takes over for K9 later in the season.

IMO, the following are reasonable Day 3 objectives: (in no particular order)

                      (1) a return man who would provide wideout depth

                      (2) Defensive Front 7 depth

                      (3) Quality Beef depth

                      (4) DB depth

Probably won't be able to accomplish all four, but it's what remains to fill out the roster.

I'm specifically hoping for UCLA's Atonio Mafi. May it be so!

Both QJ and Henley had the jersey number '1' in college.

Presumably, QJ-- as the 1st rounder-- will have '1' as a Charger, if he wants it.

Which makes me curious about the number Henley will choose. He *could* be the team's first player ever to wear '0'.
