That's exactly right! Harbaugh's teams are predicated on a certain system with a certain type of player! It's going to be a great season seeing how everything develops and falls into place!

Expecting a 5th rd pick can be as good as two guys rated best edge rusher in their respective drafts and taken in the Top 5 of Rd1 is very wishful optimism.

there is zero respect for the importance of elite edge rushers in this forum anymore. now a 5th rd edge rusher prospect is a great plan, oh my. Do you think that Minter has some super secret magic pass rush trick never considered before? He doesn't. Blitzing LBs and dropping DEs, yeah thats done in NFL. Corner or Safety blitz, yeah that too. Minter is not going to revolutionize football and turn a bunch of jags into the greatest sack machine on earth.

In the end the game will still be played hat on hat and pad on pad and 5th rd scrub edge rushers are not going to beat 1st rd OTs very often. It is why elite edge rushers are paid north of $25M APY now. Its a very rare pearl found deep in the 5th round ocean because 95% of them will never do shit.

A backfield of Gus Edwards & maybe one of the top rookie RB's like Jaylen Wright sounds good to me!

I think Ray Davis or Kimani Vidal in the later rounds..

After Bosa and Mack, the current depth is Farmer, Hollins (FA), Rumph and Tuli.
I'd keep Mack if possible but even with both gone, I'd wait 7th rd - UDFA for an OLB / edge.
I think our staff know the draft eligible kids really well.
Curious what the S&C team and coaches can do with current depth.

They don't have have a second round pick but.....I'd consider Patrick Surtain and their 3rd &4th and next year's 2nd

In division, it's gonna cost. Id rather not trade with them for a QB but depends who they want. If it's Nix or Penix. ..have at it. But think it would be McCarthey and don't think JH would go for that.
