At this point, in theory we could be starting MHJ, Frank Gore Jr Branden Rice, Trotter, Mims... It's interesting.
    Go Rivers!

Interesting if you're playing in the senior bowl

Do you still have Bowers at #5, or has something changed now?

So with the team needing a WR now and there are no #1 WRs available via FA. What are the thoughts of signing Donovan Peoples Jones and trading back quite a bit and taking AD Mitchell? AD has got great speed, hands and route running looks good. Take another late round WR like Taj Washington. Go into the season with?

          AD
          Palmer
          QJ
          DPJ
          Davis
          Washington

No not at all it confirms to me what the new offense is going to look like, and he fits perfectly for what they want to do. There are plenty of WRs in this draft that will fit with what they do and it doesn't have to be one of the top 3 WRs in the draft. By cutting MW and trading KA kinda confirms it for me.

I think the days of the Chargers slinging the ball over the place are over. We are going to see a running game mixed with high percentage short to medium passes, IMHO.
            1- #11 Bowers TE 7a- #225 Boyd DT
            2a- #35 Cooper LB 7b- #253 Vidal RB

            3a- #66 Puni OT
            3b- #69 Sainristill CB
            4a- #105 Rice WR
            4b- #110 Lloyd RB

Harrison's the only "weapon" I want to draft fifth overall. That doesn't change after the Keenan trade. I think Harrison is in the Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, etc. no-brainer category. I don't believe the rest of the "weapons" predicted to go in the top ten of this draft fall into that category. I think they fall well short.

That's what I really hate about this. Such a young team, but Herbert isn't young and if we make deep play-off runs he needs veteran NFL players.

The guy isn't 23 anymore as he is now in his athletic prime. Outside of Tom Brady, a large number of drafted franchise QB's usually win the Super Bowl while they're 26-30 years old. That's the best window. This season is pretty much how old Josh Allen was when he lost to the Bengals last year, but at least Josh had WR 1's and 2's he was familiar with. Justin got nobody right now.

Then there's the realistic risk that whoever they draft doesn't pan out.

We're essentially asking a rookie or pair of rookies to replace Keenan and Mike Williams's production/chemistry with Herbert at his peak and ready to win now. That's going to be tough.

it is time for Herbert to grab the leadership role. he is ready. we also might pick up a veteran #2 or #3 level WR. the offseason is just beginning, and we now have cap cash.

We got an extra 7th comp pick for Tranquil, right?
And now an extra 4th for Allen.
                        Nine picks?
