another thing to remember about our TE room is that Hurst is a 1 year guy, Parham is a 1 year guy, if they don't draft a TE this year the only TE on the roster going into 2025 will be Dissly. I think TE is for sure on the radar and how anyone can dislike or disapprove of Bowers is beyond me, the guy is already a star and that's not going to change at the NFL level...

Dont recall who it was.I just hope Hortiz after this draft ands up firing most the scouts we had and brings in his own. He may have brought some in already as he said he would like to but since we are close to the draft.....havent heard anything.

I happen to think Parham is an underrated blocker, I guess we see that differently, Bowers, Hurst, Disney, and Parham sounds pretty good to me, who am I forgetting? you said 5 but I only see 4 in that scenario...

Parham is actually a decent run blocker. Serious redzone threat.

In redzone situations. Imagine I-formation with fullback and Gus Edwards' 239lbs back there flanked by a 4-TE set up front. Is that even possible?

It's not about the fit. It's about all our other needs. Look at it this way. If we stay at #5 the pick should be MH2 or Nabers. Why? They are BPA and
at a position of need. If we trade down it depends on how far down. But now you have to consider the D side of the ball. We need more on that
side than we do on offense. If @11 who is BPA that is still on the board? This is the big question and we don't know and I don't think it will
be Bowers for two reasons.
1. He probably will not make it past the Jets
2. We are now in the territory of D guys, which we need a lot of help on.

I thought we were picking at #5, how the hell do you have us picking at #11? I think that's a bit presumptuous, while it makes logical sense to trade with Minnesota, the fact remains it's not a done deal until it's done deal...The Vikings are in love with Maye and they might have to go higher than #5 to get him...BTW, Bowers is one of the BPAs in this entire draft, I've never subscribed to this idea that somehow he's not worth the 5th pick, he's not just a TE, the guy is an offensive weapon and would be going to a team that is putting a premium on the TE position going forward...

I think it was a Polian family member. Son, nephew or grandson of Bill. Telesco was tight with Bill Polian and there was a Polian on staff at ND - I think that is where Telesco got his intel from.

I like Bowers, I like him alot. But the tea leaves I'm reading suggest what a few others think they see - LAC aren't going to spend their top pick on a TE. They also signed a real FB too. no need to keep repeating his skillset, its been posted 500 times already. he would not be a WR1, thats a stretchy stretch you got there. he may look almost sort of receiver-ish at UGa, but he's not NFL WR1 material by a long shot. He would be TE1 imo, but maybe not at first, as they signed 2 TEs already. A GM that dedicates his top 10 Rd1 pick to a guy he'll put on the bench has nads the size of an eclipse.

Rd1 players play or GMs are scorned, just look at the QJ scorn heaped on the last LAC brain trust.

I can see the Chargers drafting TE for sure. Whether its Bowers, Sinnott, Wiley from TCU, the TX kid - Donald Parham, Dissly and Hurst will not stop the Chargers from drafting TE. Parham might be released after the draft

We have Palmer and QJ and Davis...how is that more a need than TE with Dissly and Hurst in a TE oriented offense? At least the WRS are younger...and QJ is an up and comer.

Neither Palmer or QJ has shown they are up to the task. QJ has trouble breaking press coverage and his hands are not the best. Palmer has
shown improvement. But at best he's a #2. Neither can get open and create separation in a timely fashion. QJ, maybe if used differently, he is no
MW. Davis is a special teams guy and has not shown anything as a WR. There is reason why many analysts believe we have the worst
situation at WR in the NFL.

Dissly and Hurst if healthy represent blocking and receiving TEs respectively and both have plenty of experience. We are taking a chance on
Hurst. If healthy it's a big win for us.

It doesn't look like TE is in the cards for us in this year's draft. At least not in R1 or R2. But of course this is just my opinion.
