    Here's a nightmare.

    29

    Jerry Tillery - DT

School: Notre Dame | Year: Senior
Switching to a 4-3 means more opportunity for interior pressure to be game-changing. The impact of Notre Dame interior rusher Tillery, especially next to Chris Jones, will help offset the loss of Dee Ford, who himself was responsible for 10 turnovers last season
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    The Wasted Decade is done.

DK Metcalf is a project. Amazing athlete, but he lacks the route running that makes a lot of players immediate impact guys in the NFL. If he develops his route running, he is a grand slam home run. And I think he gets it, because his father is a former NFL player, so it's not like he doesn't know that he has a lot of work to do no matter where he is drafted. I'm not against taking him, but you have to remember he is not going to be a huge impact guy on a team that already has a lot of receivers. That was the same deal with Mike Williams, and that has worked out. The playoffs and regular season games vs Baltimore and Denver pointed out that we still struggle against playoff caliber teams that play press coverage. The WR cannot get the instant seperation to get them to back off, and the inside pressure collapses the pocket before they can get open. Metlcalf might be a year or two away from being the kind of dominant guy who can beat any coverage against any player, but in the long run that might be the way to go.

Getting back to DJ's article, I think it is interesting he says CB. If you look on paper, we are pretty well set. Hayward, Davis and Willaims as starting CB, King is a pro bowler at nickel. From that you would think we are set. But I almost wonder if we want to try and replace Hayward. He is a great CB, but he is not a guy who presses well He plays off man and zone really well, but it forces the whole secondary to play that. The Seattle D play has always played a fair bit of zone, but the Legion of Boom used to play a lot of press man, and that is when that D is most dominant. See the part above about why we need to play press coverage in the playoffs.

        Look at the gusD fits.
        Michael Davis.
        Brandon Facyson.
        Jeff Richards.
        Even Trevor Williams.

        I don't get it,
        except for talent upgrade.

I smell a trade up for Wilkins.
Oh hell, I don't know wut I am smellin' ...something funky.
We do not play modern football.

Well seeing that, I think so far for the Bolts, Im killing it lol. I havent got a safety but at this point in our mock draft, there isn't one I really like that I need to get.
I like Redwine but still some players on the board ( as of now) Id pick ahead of him....til their not there. Again, why i like doing full mocks better.

Everything I read says many teams would like to move down this year. Which means moving up should be pretty cheap.

Maybe but they aren't going to give away their top picks. Going from 28 to 10 or 15 is still gonna cost the going rate, maybe slightly less if they really want to trade down. If they don't back off a little then they aren't trading down and I don't want to give the farm to trade up this year. Next year for a QB, I'm ok with it. But you don't do that for a DT.

                It takes 2 to tango

Just because a team wants to do something doesn't mean they can pull it off. Every team has its price.

                  I'm thinking you draft for flexibility and double down in 2019 Baker-geo / Little - Miss/ Buggs - Ala/ Deiter - wisc/ Watts - Ark/ Takitaki - BYU/ LJ Scott - Mich St.

Too many great D prospects to go O in the first. We gotta slow down teams like the Rams, Chiefs, NE to advance.

The Chargers weakest point is the OL up the middle. Chris Jones killed us. Now if they double up on the pass rush up the middle, it kills us.

And don't think Andy Reid doesn't know we are vulnerable there. We are their top competition, & they will be drafting accordingly.

Having said that I hope they go out and draft jerry tillery.
