Here is Albert Breer's take on the draft:
Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been charged for soliciting prostitution at a day spa that’s part of a larger sex-trafficking sting unfolding in South Florida. What does he face next, and how will the league step in? Also, it’s NFL combine week, so we run down the strengths and weaknesses of this draft class, how Haskins and Murray compare to last year’s QBs, who might be the next Gronkowski and much more.

Good thing their drafting isn't that spectacular. But it's negated by the fact that Belichick knows how to coach them up and utilize their talents even when he does draft them too early.

I hope we can find a way to trade down and get more picks in the second and third. But I will fine with staying at 28, as long as we do not trade up for anyone.

He has done well in the trenches. And thats where games are won. They usually focus heavily on the trenches with draft picks. He will probably trade out a couple which is something they like to do also. Or trade picks for players.

It's because of Dante Scarnecchia. Look at the difference when Dave DeGuglielmo took over in 2014 and 2015 after Scarnecchia retired the first time. And compared it to what happened after he came back in 2016. Scarnecchia is probably the best OL coach in the NFL even at his age.

Yes they are good at developing players in the trenches. But they draft a lot of good players in the trenches. At least they are guys i have liked. Wynn should crack the line up soon. Not all have developed. I guess im saying that they draft a lot of guys in those positions. You are bound to hit on some. I think Telesco feels he hits on his picks and doesnt need to pick up more. Pats drafted Wynn last year but that interior of Andrews, Mason, Thuney is pretty solid. They still went after Wynn.

That's some write-up. Nothing surprising about the QBs, it's a weak class. If you need a decent backup, this is the class to get one.

Nice to see Simmons coaches giving the NFL GMs good thoughts about him and saying he is a good kid. @ #60, I'm in on him.
RBs, I'd take a late flyer on Dexter Williams, BryceLove or Alex Barnes but don't think we really need one unless they don't resign Gordon. Then it's a need. Ekeler isn't a #1 RB.
Some good mid round WRs too if TWill walks.

in TT's Combine presser he mentioned that, "there are some guys we like (@QB)"

also like how Josh Oliver is not part of the conversation @TE.... def a better bet than say a Tommy Sweeney.

and S Will Harris Day 3.... will venture that may be a steal of a deal.

personally think that Stidham is miles ahead of Lock re: mindset/intangibles, and that he is just a better player than DJ (Daniel Jones).

He says that every year and others have been suspecting we draft a QB since 2016 and we haven't. TT still says they do heir due diligence on QBs when we know we aren't picking one.
And they may draft a QB this year as Geno sucks but it won't be a first round pick to replace Rivers. I've always said after Haskins, you Have a bunch of backups in this class.

Murray has big talent but still think his height will hinder him some but he will go early now that he measured at 5'10"......which is interesting since the OK AD said they measured him @ 5'9 5/8".
