Has he become a blocking TE, he had 5 receptions last year.
I do remember him 3 or 4 years ago as an ok, not great TE (3 to 4 TDs)

Jets OC Chan Gailey just doesn't like to throw to the TE. He prefers to go with 3, 4 or 5 WR on passing downs. When he throws play action in base personnel, he usually keeps the TE in to block. Very, very few opportunities to catch passes as a TE in his offense.

That being said, Cumberland is a very inconsistent receiver. He is a good athlete who can pluck the ball, but I don't think he reads defenses well, and while he can do some damage as a receiver, he has long stretches where he disappears. Given how few TE there are left (most are just big WR), he is a solid, but not spectacular pickup. He has developed into an OK blocker, and occasionally flashes his ability as a recevier. I'm glad he doesn't start. As a spot player he may be useful on ST and as a 2nd/3rd TE.

Chargers' Corey Liuget: Feeling better following offseason surgery
              By RotoWire Staff 11m ago

Liuget is feeling "much better" after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in December, Micahel Gehlken of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Liuget had tallied 34 tackles (28 solo) and three sacks before his Week 13 injury against the Broncos. The 26-year-old, who signed a five-year extension prior to last year's training camp, reportedly weighed between 313-315 pounds throughout the 2015 season, but is expecting to cut his weight down to 295 by the season opener. With the Chargers selecting Joey Bosa with the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Liuget and Bosa could form an impressive duo on the defensive line capable of wreaking havoc on opposing offenses should both players stay healthy.

I am really psyched to see this D this year, also hopeful Whiz brings back a little magic to the O.

This guy would be a nice addition to the line. Given our line's recent injury history - and recent history of underperformance (see: Franklin) - there's almost no reason NOT to sign Slauson. If he doesn't work out, we can always cut off our Slauson.

my question is, Who gets cut to make room for him?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Robinson. Also opens up more cap room. If their smart they won't let him leave.

But Robinson doesn't make this team anyway. barring injury of course.
