Duce Staley asked to be released from his contract in Philly. Makes sense as he got passed over again. I wonder if he would make sense as an OC for the Chargers. Granted, he is more from the Andy Reid system and not the Shanahan system thats for sure. But a good coach is a good coach - can adapt.

I think if Steichen and Pep were going to be retained, it would have happened already. Maybe Staley wants to wash away the stink of the close losses and get all the former coaches out? I would really like to see the WR coach kept. I think he is a great coach.

This is a big deal, Pep Hamilton getting a crack at joining the Steeler Family. Best long-term job security in the league.

For head coaches, you bet. For coordinators, maybe not so much lately under Tomlin. He has cycled through a decent amount of offensive coordinators

I'm glad they acted fast on getting a head coach...but moving this slow on OC and DC with a new head coach without a lot of contacts is troubling to me. The OC is the most important and the DC can be nurtured by our new head coach.

I agree and am more worried about the OC than the defense. But who knows, maybe some hot shot from one of the playoff teams is the guy and they cannot announce it yet? Chargers do really keep secrets well. Packers run the McVay offense so maybe someone from there?

It’s you. Have patience. Finding the right people takes time. Otherwise, we should just keep Pep and Steichen so that more people can complain lol.

Urban Meyer has not hired his coordinators yet, right? And he was supposedly all set with a staff to hit the ground day one.

Smith hired Dean Pease as DC, but has not named OC yet.

Steelers fired/did not renew OC still haven’t named new one.

Saleh has his OC, but his DC?

Siriani just named but already has DC.

Campbell has his DC and OC in Detroit.

Seattle still looking for new OC.

Texans are stuck in neutral.

I think Staley is the only new HC who already has this special teams coordinator.

Maybe Staley is waiting to see if Stitch and/or Pep get any offers from other teams...before he fires them...

Staley said in his presser it would be a week or two. Just hope he has some good ones in mind. Maybe he is waiting for McVay to let him hire O'Connel.
