If Hill were an outstanding punt returner who was a threat to score every time he touched the ball, I could understand it. But Hill is not that and never will be. My puzzlement is over the fact that with a under-manned WR corps of just five, one of them a rookie, they didn't keep the five best WRs. Ty Johnson has better hands than Guyton, Josh Palmer has never played a down in the NFL, and Jason Moore isn't close to being as good as Johnson. There has to be another reason for letting Johnson go. Because from a talent perspective, letting him go weakens the offense.

How many returners in the entire league fit the description of the first sentence? It's almost like you seem to think that Devin Hester's are commonplace and every other team in the league has one.

Sproles-- one of my All-Time favorite Chargers. Many similarities to Ekeler.

Which, btw... I suspect Ekeler could be a *very* good return man, if that's how the club chose to use him.

But he's too valuable, now, to subject to that kind of risk.

For sake of comparison Dallas hasn't had one in last six years or so. Dez was good at it his first few seasons.

Agree...if Hill can't get it done the first couple of games, yank him and try someone else...
