He still looks a little small to me but looks obviously can be deceiving. His work with Duke last year means he's faster and stronger than on his Northwestern tape. His foot speed is unreal. His hands are superb.

He also has a low bodyfat % for an OL so he looks smaller than he is.

Slater is not small. That is a narrative that just keeps getting repeated but the numbers just don't back it up. His name was never called by the announcers, which for TV, means he played really well. Hard to watch OL on TV and not an expert to begin with but when I focused, he looked awesome

He's listed at 305#. Probably plays a little lower. That's small for an NFL OLT. Average is 315# to 320#.

And because he has low bodyfat and muscle is denser than fat, he looks even a bit smaller than that.

Just think how good he could be if his arms were 1/8 of an inch longer? WOW we are talking seriuos pro bowl then. Can we finally put to rest that stupid stat about arm length now?

Slater is as good as he is rumored to be. He is the real deal.

We need to find a solution to RT. Whether by next draft or evaluating if Storm is the answer. It doesn't matter how good your LT is if your other tackle, the RT, is weak. Opposing defenses are going to line up their best pass rusher on the inferior tackle.
