I agree. Many thanks to Lynn’s blunders for making this possible.

On a side note, I don’t understand why Asante is rated as the 3rd best CB in the class. The article keeps talking about “degree of difficulty “ yet Surtain is rated higher? He’s played worse opponents and posted worse stats. And Newsome has done far less than either.

ya take these rankings from a grain of salt. Not sure why penei is so high. He’s been average to pretty bad IMO this year

Defensive Rookie of the month Asante Samuel Jr would disagree...

Oh, what a wonderful debate to be stuck with, Charger fans...
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

Indeed. A rookie winning against seasoned veteran rushers is very impressive.

I will hold my hand up and say I didn't think he would be as excellent as he is. I have no problem eating crow and hope he is here for a long time to come.

I too thought Slater was destined for the guard position. Three games in, I am happy to be eating crow.

I was worried about his ability to anchor against longer, stronger NFL edge players like Sweat. Boy was I wrong. Dude's just tough as nails, even with a hand on his throat he's sinking his hips.

I didn't think he'd move to guard but would need scheme protection against certain guys.

His technical mastery really mitigates his slightly less than ideal physical measurements.

I think Duke Manyweather did a great job with him and Slater took full advantage of the opportunity. He's better than on his college tape after a year off.

I am right with you in that I did not think Slater would be so polished early on, especially since he didn’t play last season. I will more than gladly eat crow now!! I even thought he may have been a tweener and not long enough to stay outside and again I was wrong. Just think about it, Slater will certainly get better as the season goes along considering he did not even play last season.
