I think you will be surprised. His football IQ, superior technique, quick feet and athleticism will more than make up for his ideal measurables. There have been really good LTs in the NFL who didn't have prototype measurables but had what Slater has.

Imho its his coordinated footwork, core strength (33 bench reps), and short are burst (1.68 10-yard split identical to Joey Bosa despite being 40lbs heavier). If he's receptive to coaching then he can be in the minority of smaller-framed LT's being in the top 10 of the NFL. He's got the intangibles to do so. Furthermore I hope him being a gym rat would make him immune from fizzling out after getting Paid after his rookie contract.

      .....and if all that doesn't work then I hope he's a pro-bowl level G :<
A couple times Young had him stacked and just couldn't quite shed or push through. Nail biter blocks.

Can't get longer. Can get heavier. He's super lean for an OL, take one for the team and get a mini big ugly gut. He's pretty well muscled out.

Wirfs had next level physical traits. Slater isn't close. No comparison at all. Telesco drafted a LG, which helps, but needs a tackle still.

Great pick, Telesco showing patience not trading up.

You are talking a lot of shit
            and you are wrong.

I will listen to the experts.
Duke, Geoff Schwartz, Brandon Thorn, Daniel Jeremiah, Dan Shonka, Dane Brugler.

And I will trust my own scout's eye.

So funny watching the talking heads try and grade picks. Right now, on CBSSportsline, they gave our pick of Slater a "B".

They then gave the Raiders selection of Leatherwood a "B".

                WTF?

One can hope. But I also think why leave him at tackle where he might survive if he can be an all pro G. He is built for G and pulling. People might not like the 13 pick being a G, but I think he is ultimately and an all pro one at that, so they get value for sure. Look, he isn't Lamp or Feeney. He will start. I just think it will be at G.

                    My 2nd round cluster:
Stokes, Tryon, Grant, Molden, Oweh, Ossai, Melifonwu, and Samuel.

                    In that order.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

Leatherwood has measurables for T and started at Alabama. I think they got it right, as Slater is more a G and Leatherwood a clear LT.

In fairness to AKFlyFisher, last year he wanted to move Herbert to TE so he is consistent.
