It sucks because it is an individual stat for a team activity. There is a lot that goes into getting the QB down on the ground, and while it is easy to give credit to the guy who actually gets the tackle, everyone has to do their job to give the pass rusher the chance to get the QB.

And then sometimes the guy who got the sack is actually the guy who deserves the credit. Things even out, the guys with the most sacks tend to be the best pass rushers. But yeah, one great rusher on a defense that completely blows can be contained more easily than a great rusher with a competent bookend or other defensive threat.

For a long time the greatest running QB of all time, Randall Cunningham held the record for being sacked most in a season. He is high on the all time list as well.

There’s a lot of guys who were starters for more than 15 years, too.

Very true but the one thing that all but Brady and Krieg have in common is they were mobile QB's.

I have gone over this a few times but QB's that run get sacked more that pocket QB's as a rule of thumb. Mobile QB's are great, as they make the ESPN highlight reel but they don't show you the 3-4 times a game the lineman ran the rusher right into the QB because he was not when he was supposed to be, yet they will blame it on the lineman.

The highest single season QB sacks. All of these QB's were considered mobile, Cunningham is the greatest running QB ever and Watson is considered a great runner as well.

They moved the reigning DROY and DPOY candidate to the other side to get away from Slater. Can only block who you got.

We have up 2 sacks for 3 yards and one was a coverage sack. Herbert had time to pass for most of the game and was comfortable in the pocket. We did smartly get rid of the ball quickly but the offensive line did very well against the best front in the league.

WFT has invested heavily in DL. No franchise QB tho. Did they really need Chase Young with what they have instead of a franchise qb in the 2020 draft? Time will tell but I think a lot of WFT fans are second guessing that one
