At that years Senior Bowl, Zion received a lot of praise, from diverse NFL sources.
Flash forward to now.
Is the problem bad drafting, or bad player development ?
Forest Lamp, Dan Feeney, Max Tuerk...same.
We are getting killed by the fact that we cannot run the football.
It is mostly 20-20 hindsight to now say that we draft poorly.
If we fire Telesco (and we should now) it will be for having uncanny shitty luck.

Dean understands that keeping Staley around is bad business.

But we need more than that. What's bad for business is losing. We all know the biggest problem is Dean and JB. Then it's Telesco. Best we can do is fire him on down.

Next is the the owners to tighten their assholes and realize they need somebody like Harbaugh and they should sit back and STFU and not try to be some scouts and give input.

Unfortunately, this is true. Talent acquisition processing MUST BE CHANGED. Not just talent evaluation and addressing need, but leveraging draft capital, better understanding how to extract strengths of drafts in 3-4 year periods and how you best fill those needs with talent available. Pay structure of positions, better free agency value & more thorough medical testing.

Head coaches are extremely important in the type of team you put together.
Telesco has always tried to accomodate their wishes.

You can not separate the head coach from the team he helps to choose, develop and train.

Some here are pretending that Staley is a helpless victim in whom is out there, and how they perform.

So you're basically saying Staley is not a good enough coach and needs the best OL and DL in the NFL... But you want to advocate in keeping him anyway just because you don't want to see a change? Watching the Titans with Will Levis at QB and how Vrabel keeps that team playing hard. Plus is a smart coach

Just proves coaching matters. The Titans are not getting rid of Vrabel - they see the big picture but if they wanted to move on from him, he would be great

Here’s a theory - If you simply regurgitate and adopt popular consensus, you will only achieve average results as the consensus is the average. One must have unique independent vision and instinct to rise above the consensus.

TT is not stupid, he’s just not uniquely talented. He absorbs and adopts consensus and then mechanically executes on it as his manifestation of “professionals GM” when in fact he could be an electronic tabulator for all the unique contribution he adds. I do see a few examples of unnecessary infatuation that blinds him as well, causing bad picks. Hence he does not have the absolute worst teams - he merely has a ceiling of average. Mr 0.500. The occasional blind infatuation drops him a bit below average to mediocre/poor.

Just a theory. I am looking for his unique picks or acquisitions that he made that were both great AND not obvious, players he uniquely found - i don’t need two hands yet and he’s been here 10 yrs.

Seems like 1/2 the teams in the league are playing with back up QBs

And many of them are winning with the backups.

Once again, it will be a HUGE tell about Telesco and Little Johnny if Stick can’t win a game.
