He squares up his man and shifts in time to help with the blitzer (who Ekeler had already chopped perfectly), then shifts back to his man again, keeping him a good 2+ yards away from Herbert at his release point.

All in a blink of an eye.

Slater’s awareness and footwork is otherworldly.

      I'm way impressed with Slater.
There was a lot to like @ Chargers. Killer team effort, killer 4th qtr finish. Lots of room for improvement but they finished with a W vs a very good WFT D, questionable officiating, and Chargers errors.

Slater, Feiler and Linsey were absolute studs out there.

Slater and Feiler were singled up on WTF players in pass pro and absolutely stoned them the entire game.
Linsey would help Aboushi, Norton was getting rbs and tight ends to chip for him every play.

Chargers left side to oline is the best in the AFC west - no question.

Maybe this has already been posted. But even if it has, it deserves to be posted twice.

“It’s definitely different because you’re not running a concept,” Jackson said. “You’re just running what you want off leverage. We just got to do better.”

Interesting take! Of course it will take Herbert and Allen being on the same page mostly. This concept actually maximizes Allen's talents in my opinion. He is a smart and savvy route runner who understands leverages about as well as anyone. This may very well be the first of many to come when it comes down to 3rd down conversion rate!

This is probably the most encouraging statement I have come across yet from the Chargers / WFT game! Who would have thought this with this rebuilt OL going against the WFT talented front. I did not see Slater being this solid so early on in his career, so I am very glad I was wrong about it!

A bit surprising is that Brandon Cooks, catching passes from Tyrod Taylor in Houston, had 132 yards, good for No. 4.
Houston on track for the division title and TT on track for that MVP award: 2 tds, almost 300 yards.

Gameplan vs WFT. Get the ball out.

                          Offensive snap counts

The surprises for me in yesterday's snap counts were mostly on the offensive side.

Everyone seemed to think that Palmer would be WR3, but snaps were Guyton 53 (5 targets), Palmer 14 (1 target) and Hill 7 (3 targets).

Also surprised that JJ didn't get more play: Ekeler 47 snaps, Rountree 22, JJ 11 (and just 1 rush).
