Toney was a 2021 first rounder so KC has the 5th year option. Chiefs gave a red shirt to an undrafted injured receiver named Ross. The guy looked great in camp but had some serious injuries in college so he went on IR. Ross is one the the fastest humans and has unlimited potential if he can be healthy. Has now spent over a year catching passes with Mahomes.
You have to hit on the majority of picks to stay competitive with an ELITE QB salary. Chiefs have 10 more picks in the next draft and will pick up some extra picks in 2024 as a few top free agents leave.
Retooled this year and won the SB.

I know a lot of focus is on the first round but its picks on Day 2 and 3 that matter. And with Herbert coming due - no more JT Woods type projects; no more Easton Stick projects. If the ceiling is lower but the floor is higher - just pick the production over potential. Hence, why I want Telesco to trade back - get more picks, more depth, more darts at the dart board, not less

Ryan Tannehill killed the Titans in their last playoff game with interceptions to open the game and close the game. Haven't thought much of him since.

Mahomes first year Brady threw an int that would have sent KC to that SB. They called offsides on Dee Ford who has a finger over the line. It was away from the play and that is also not usually called. So Brady gets another chance and KC ends up losing in overtime with Mahomes not getting a chance to play. They changed the rule next season. So KC could have been in 4 of the last 5 SB.
Its unfortunate that the officiating is always a huge conversation in these games. All the cameras make it easy to find missed calls, bad calls etc. Its as bad as current politics. I dont know how it can be corrected? It would help if the announcers did not spend so much time on it. In this case the announcer went on and on and was not seeing the actual grabbing of the jersey. He went on and on and on.
THe real losers are us fans. We cant enjoy a victory without media and fans saying it was because?

And this is how you do it. Not only hit on draft picks but stockpile draft picks to give yourself more options. Always trying to improve the roster as well. Like bringing in John Ross - who knows what he brings.
Sometimes you just have to know what football players make sense for your roster.
Must be someone else.John Ross unfortunately for him, will never stay healthy.

Prior to injuries this guy was special. May not have the speed I thought? Had a great camp and Chiefs hid him on IR. No risk high reward player.

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JUSTYN ROSS:
Clemson, 6035 205 4.55. Three-year starter, Phenix City, AL. Earned Honorable Mention All-ACC honors in 2019. Ross’ career got off to a sizzling start as a true freshman, leading the National Champion Tigers with 1,000 yards, averaging a school record 21.7 yards per reception. Unfortunately, that was the high point of his career. He missed all of 2020 because of a surgery to repair congenital fusion in his neck. Got back on the field in 2021, but the suddenness and strength simply were not there. Also had surgery last November to repair a stress fracture in his foot. The smooth hips and footwork along with plusball skills can make up for some of the physical shortcomings, but he simply does not have enough juice or strength to factor right away. Needs to fight hard to reach just the average level of physical talent needed for the receiver position. Smooth and easy pass catcher who plays with slow eyes, fast hands. Has an easy moving lower half capable of making subtle changes in direction and momentum as a route runner. Gets away from contact without losing the integrity of his path. Solid build-up speed with plus-ball tracking down the field. Shows excellent coordination and timing when attacking the ball. Will see it into his hands repeatedly. Plays ultra-aware of boundaries and spacing. Explosion and burst are on the low end. Lacks power and strength at the catch point, can be thrown off his point too easily. Does not show much after the catch. Has seen his level of play decrease year by year.
2021 stats: 46-514, 11.2 ypr, 3 TD. Third/fourth round. (A-32 1/8, H-9 5/8, VJ-31.5, SS-DNP).
