Seeing his cap is $14M, his age and he can't stay healthy I could see them cutting Bulaga. A #1 pick at 17 is $2.9 M in cap in comparison. I left Joseph in as they still need a DT and $8M is about the going rate ( so him or another FA)

Fackrell is only ~ $1.5M.

Justin Jones is a UFA too. He may need $3-5 M too .Will revise my #s

We actually have enough to resign DT Jones, DT Joseph, WR Williams, replace Nwosu and have $2M for CB to replace Harris by my revised calcs. Cutting Bulaga makes a lot more sense now.

We only had ~ 2 sk/ game last year, near the bottom of the league so they need another Edge type player.

They have $57M in cap per Spotrac. I could see them letting Chris Harris and his $8M go. Maybe Jared Cook $4M w Tre McKitty. Nwosu per Spotrac may want $12M so I think they will let him go. my back of napkin calcs

So it looks like they have enough for an edge rusher if they want. They could cut Bulaga and save $14M in cap too. Should be interesting as they have the draft in mind for many of these needs. Maybe the #1 on a RT and the #2 for an Edge rusher?

It’s going to be tough bringing some players back because of market value. After watching some dudes on YouTube the one I’m scared about is losing White. But when you think about it, lb is not the most needed spot on Staleys defense.

Good #s On Spotrac though we have a ton of UFA who are depth that added up to about another $10M Covington, Fackrell, J Jackson, Schofield, Kyzhir White, Anderson, Chase Daniel Ty Long etc . They have to be replaced one way or the other. So reserves could be more like $10M vs $5M

White, Jones, Nwosu are all ascending players who are scheme fits and are familiar with system. You can spend the money somewhere else instead, but I don't know if you'll get better production.

We have 11 draft picks. Fill in depth there. Can include P and K. If Aboushi is signed, plus we add a RT, I don't see Schofield back.

Fackrell was a 1 year deal and he didn't do much. Maybe they do but he shouldn't be a priority.

Joseph was OK but time to get younger there. Spend that 8 mil on that.

I disagree about Bosa not being Watt. The Steelers DL is better than ours, and gives Watt more help than we do for Bosa.

Forget about Watt. He was defensive player of the year. Maybe just be as good as his little brother or Maxx Crosby

If they cut Bulaga, they will be up to around 68m. But the current 57m on OTC and Spotrac is for a 45 man roster. So add the draft class of say 9m. That takes you down to $60m. Need 8mn for the Practice Squad and in season fund. So starting with 52m

Mike Williams - sign him to a long term deal or let him walk: 12m cap hit
Justin jones (or a like player) 6.5m cap hit
Kyzir White: 7m cap hit
Nwosu or a like player: 7m cap hit

Thats down to 20m left over right now
Aboushi and a couple others - I have using 5m

My choices:

Sebastian Joseph Day or BJ Hill: 7.5m cap hit


Second player: maybe Zach Ertz, maybe a DB like Tyran Mathieu maybe more IDL depth like Austin Johnson or Maliek Collins, or Akiem Hicks

Thats all I got - the money goes fast. And this is why the Chargers cannot franchise Mike Williams as you lose about 7m of cap space.
