The cap is going up a lot. Get used to "overpaying".

I think FA targets are SJD and Ward.

Telesco and Staley have so much work to do on defense -

I still think in free agency - two DTs, one CB, bring in an Edge rusher and pick your best from RB or LB
White is overrated by Chargers fans. He had impact plays for both good and bad. Lots of bad angles and fills.

Those have to be the targets

I wonder if there is a sleeper Edge player. I know they talked nice about Nwosu but they really need to improve pass rush

Still might call the Packers and ask them what ZaDarius Smith would cost in a trade so as not to release him to the open market.

I have said it before will say it again - beholden to none of White Nwosu or Jones if you can improve at all three positions.

Jones might be the best one to keep as I think with a solid IDL next to him - he is pretty good plus he won't be expensive

Either White or Nwosu will be a casualty, IMO. Probably Nwosu.

Jones will be the cheapest. Can't have stars everywhere.

Agreed. Jones just needs better next to him. And better depth

With the signing of Mike Williams, we still have an offense that's good enough to be a top five - fix the defense now!

MW's deal carries a $15.86 million cap hit for 2022, so we still have $41.85 million in space right now and can get to about $52 million if we cut Bulaga. Still plenty of money to fill some holes on the defense (I think RT and WR are addressed in the draft).

I think the Rodgers deal drove all of the activity today. After that Wilson was off to the Broncos. Now knowing that GB could afford Adams and that Goodwin was/is going to be franchised, TT decided to keep his asset in house.

So now it looks as if FA will be a defense driven affair. Hopefully Tom gets a few pieces while keeping Justin at least and that should help with our draft direction. Boy next week will be interesting. Oh and a sidebar on this is that Herbert feels supported. They kept a weapon for his arsenal.

Allbright tweeted that the Broncos heard around the time of the Senior Bowl that Rodgers was going back to Green Bay so thats when they started talking to the Seahawks about Russell Wilson.

So that domino fell for the Broncos
as for Mike Williams - it just makes sense to get a long term deal done
