    Eke... UDFA
    JJ... 7th round
    Roundtree... 6th round
    Kelly... 4th round

The only high pick @RB was Melvin Gordon. TT didn't re-sign him.
I want a capable RB with talent to split time with Ekeler and can carry a load running clock down in the 4th quarter we dont have to worry about getting beat up like Ekeler.

Roundtree is the only one with Staley and Lombardi era. There will be more after Jackson and Kelly are gone....who he inherited.

Zenner was a stud there with 3 straight 2K seasons and did nothing in the NFL.
I'm not using my 2nd rounder on a guy that splits time with Eke. I'd use my 2nd rounder that fills a huge need (RT or CB) and starts 90% of his snaps at a PON.

      Austin Ekeler...?
Elijah Mitchell was my late round choice last year.
Michael Turner, Darren Sproles, Danny Woodhead...

Well shame on the Broncos, Browns, Titans, Panthers, Bucs, etc for drafting or signing RBs to have a good temdem.

Yes the Titans. Henry was a second round pick and didn't start right away and didn't play as much his first 2 years playing behind DeMarco Murray who they signed.
I think it's worked out for them.

Ekeler also has 2 years left in his deal. Ekeler could be the guy who isn't getting the most work here with a higher round pick as well since he is the one who gets beat up.
He has a career high in carries at 173 and second highest reception totals. He is strong but still a 195-200 lb RB taking a lot of hits that take their toll.

I guess you just don't get it. But as I said I don't mind signing a young FA RB either like Ronald Jones for one.

We can also sign some of those other positions you think we need to draft early as well.

All this is pending on what we do in FA'cy and there is no conclusion right now for what we need to do in the draft.

I’m gonna side with Boltjolt on this one.

RB2 is a PON, especially since RB is a position of attrition in the NFL, and even more so with the new 17 game schedule. Ekeler can’t handle the full load by himself and we’d be fucked if he got injured.

No, our team identity isn’t run-first, but we can’t have a bunch of sad clowns out there either. We need someone dynamic, someone threatening, for when Ekeler takes a breather (or gets dinged up). Otherwise, say bye-bye to PA, and say hello to 2 high shells and exotic blitz packages, both of which have been Herbo’s weakness this year.

Michael Turner 2.0 would be ideal, but we were lucky as hell to get a player like that in the 5th. The odds of repeating that are slim. It’s a shame Nutty isn’t our GM. Elijah Mitchell in the late rounds would have been ideal.

JJ and Kelley and Roundtree are not the answer. If we can take care of 2 PONs in FA, then I’m hoping for a RB in R3 at the latest.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

So you want to draft Trey Sermon ? :lmao:

Mitchell is a product of Shanahan's OZ,
like those who came before him,
and an RB who should get Kittle a nice Christmas gift besides. :chuckle:

BTW, I had Jonathan Taylor in round 1...don't mean shit. :rimshot:

Nutty's demolition team needs to put away the dynamite...JJ will be part of the massive in house retention, which eats up a lot of our cap. :facepalm1:

Carry on with our '21 playoff push, featuring JJ/McKitty, and draft Trey McBride later.

Herb and his twin two-way TEs will destroy Two-Highs and exotic blitzes. :hello:
We do not play modern football.

Exactly my point... SF's 3rd round RB (Sermon) is getting outplayed by their 6th round RB (Mitchell) in the same OZ system. It happens every year.

Jonathan Taylor is having a great year... but would you trade Rashawn Slater (or ASJ) for him...? Probably not.

I'm not demolishing the roster. I'd bring back Nwosu, Jones, and White for sure. I'd include a lot of the lesser players as well... JJ, Guyton, Anderson, Hall, Aboushi/Schofield, Hopkins, and Parham. Maybe even Covington, Quessenberry, and Long.

How much do you think Nwosu, Jones, and White command in salary...? Work from there...

I wouldn't bring back the older FA's: Joseph, Harris, or Cook.
Pass on Mike Williams and cut Bulaga.
              Replace Joseph via FA
Replace Harris, Bulaga, and Cook via draft
Replace Williams with D. Adams via FA

I'm not demolishing the roster. I'm replacing older (short term) players with younger (longer term) players.
CB and RT are my 1st and 2nd round targets. EDGE, S, and LB are my next targets (3-5). RB/TE on my radar in the 6th round.

                Using Spotrac's Salary Cap Manager...

                Resigned numerous Chargers' FA's. Jones = $5 million White = $5 million Nwosu = $6 million
Aboushi, Daniel, Quessenberry, Jackson, Overton, Covington, Anderson, Guyton, Long, Hopkins, Schofield, Parham, Hall.

                FA's. Davante Adams = $25 million Sebastian Joseph-Day = $5 million

Still $20 million under the cap. $10 million to sign rookies, $10 million reserve

I’d like to know what TT’s plan is (as would we all).

Will he use all the cap space to make a strong super bowl push? Or will he save a substantial portion every year so that when we extend Herbert the team isn’t decimated? Super bowl now or bust? Or perennial contender? It’s long term vs short term planning.

There’s benefits and pit-falls to both lines of thinking, but as impatient fans we want a damn trophy.

The goal should always be a Super Bowl. If it isn't... you have the wrong GM or owner.

The beauty of having 11 draft picks is you can draft for depth (potential starters in 2-3 years).

Here are the contracts for Derwin, Keenan, and Joey:
                    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-ange...n-james-25112/ (Derwin)
                    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-ange...n-allen-12357/ (Keenan)
                    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-ange...ey-bosa-18951/ (Joey)

Franchise tag for safeties (2022) is $13.5 million. Transition tag for safeties (2022) $11.3 million.

I think you're overpaying those guys.
If Uchenna asks for $11.5 million/year, I'm re-signing Fackrell and drafting an EDGE.
If Kyzir is asking $8 million/year, I'm finding a cheaper FA and drafting LB in the 3rd/4th
I might pay Justin Jones $6 million/year... I might just find a cheaper FA and draft an IDL in the 4th/5th.

Have you tried the Spotrac Cap Managing tool? I don't think you could fit that under the cap.

I think you’re expecting the FA market to be less vibrant than it always is.
This is my plan. I look forward to seeing your detailed plan.

Yes. I use it for every one of these. I still have $21.7M in Cap space left. You know Cap hits are not equal per year, correct?
