Justin isnt gonna learn any younger, that he is gonna watch plenty of beloved team mates walk out that door in his career.

I dont know how well Bandy did returning throughout camp, but if he is viable, he not only provides backup for Carter, but he also provides an additional, unique tool in the box. Where Carter will thrive with his speed against primarily man defense, that same speed can be contained with a competent zone defense...whereas in that situation, Bandy would thrive with the knack he has shown for finding the soft spots in zone. So Keenan gets knicked up, I like how each of them brings different matchup qualities, depending on the defense we are facing. Thats my arguement for keeping Bandy. I think it will boil down to this for the coaching staff....is Bandy an overachiever who is already at his ceiling? Or can he continue to improve on what he has already shown? If there is reason to think this kid could get even better, he is a keeper.

My argument for keeping bandy over stick is that he has earned a spot unlike easton…also I agree herbert needs to grow up but let’s be honest QBs have been doing this sort of thing since…? IDK, forever…? As for keeping just 5 WRs on the roster, maybe back when teams ran a lot more carried two fullbacks etc…nowadays with all the multiple WR sets teams run I thought the chargers got themselves in a bind a couple of times last season when people got banged up, it got to the point were it may have limited the offense from being run in it’s entirety….IMO, you need all six guys in todays NFL, even if bandy is inactive 3-4 games during the season, it’s still well worth it…

Rosters cut down by 4pm ET, then the mad scramble for Practice squad. I don't think the Chargers will officially get to 53 until the deadline.

They released surratt with an injury designation yesterday too…they’ve already sucessfully stashed campbell, loyd, and shelby on injured reserve, I wonder if they try that again with anyone else besides surratt?

Bandy is a scrappy kid. Easy to root for him.

But he really is a one dimensional WR. He has only played slot and the Chargers seem to want their WR to have position flexibility. I have not seen him block at all. He has been a mediocre returner (but way better than KJ Hill who was kept when he shouldn't have been) but he does not play on ST coverage teams. I know we all like him, but I just have this feeling that he is superfluous to this team and you really cannot keep players you don't have a need for just so another team cannot sign them. They are going to keep Andre Carter who is already the Bandy of this team.

Bandy turned out better than Hill and Reed. Other than Bandy, did any receiver do enough to make the PS? Reed will probably be there, but he looks like a fail to me.

The funny thing about Carter is that we haven't seen anything on film from previous seasons or even this pre season to suggest he's this slam-dunk wr5
He just had a "good camp" catching TDs mostly from our backups, and suddenly everyone is automatically comfortable with him making the team.
Bandy on the other hand gets dissected like a worm.
Just saying, I'll see it when I believe it.

What? He caught 24 passes for 294 yds and 3 TDS last year, in addition to his return duties....those are respectable numbers for a WR 4/5.
