My post here goes beyond our WR's. Sorry about that!

Not only our WR depth is questionable/unproven but so are our LB's and Corner's not named Jackson. I worry about those areas. Hopefully the new safety, Woods, can be the missing link as a cover guy for the secondary. I'm not very optimistic about our LB's however. We are suffering a major lack of talent there.

I LOVE what Telesco did this off-season but there were simply too many weak - or unproven - roster spots that need(ed) improving. At least for a Super Bowl run. If Mack and Bosa stay healthy throughout the season I think we'll have a decent chance at the Super Bowl. But if one of them misses too many games we are in deep shit again IMO. I could be wrong obviously if, for example, someone like Rumph steps his game up quickly. I would have to go with the Bengals at this time if I was a betting man. They have it all.

LB KVN very good, Tranquill, solid, Reeder serviceable vet. K9 is a big MAYBE. Amen & Neiman good prospects.
CB Mr Int elite, Asante very good, Davis decent starter, Callahan good vet, Taylor or Leonard 4.3 speed
            KVN also plays Edge.

I'm concerned about special teams. Last year's biggest issues were STs and run D.
Run D should be at least avg or better with Bash, A Johnson, Tito and Fox.
STs are tough to figure. We hired a new coach, pro bowl LS, vet P, vet WR/KR, drafted more cover speed., potential return speed.
It's an eclectic group to assemble and get quality play from but they do have the HC's attention.

It's one hand washes the other re the different units. We have a lot of talented vets & youth, several elite.
20 days and it starts coming together.

3rd down D was a bigger issue than run D. Even 3rd and long we gave up a lot of conversions.

                  Chargers 2021 run D # 30, 3rd down #32.
True but they're pretty closely related.
We had the 11th lowest pass completion % allowed.

I forgot about Van Noy. Senior moment I suppose - fuck. I agree he makes a difference as a sack artist principally. Of course he's older than ideal for early downs play but he's been a play-maker as a pass-rusher for a few years now. I still don't care for our LB's. Van Noy really isn't a big tackler. Hopefully Reeder will be that for us. And I still say we're weak overall at Corner. Especially for a Super Bowl run. Callahan better stay healthy.

And I agree with you about ST's. They need to be better - at least the coverage aspect for certain.

In baseball they deadened the ball this year and HRs were way down. Guys like Aaron Judge who can still hit HRs even with a dead ball are even more valuable now.

I'm not sure about the LBs. Good or bad.
DL performance, scheme requirements, DB help ?? Not sure what it will look like.
Last year was not a good example.

Right now I like CBs and depth. I think we have some guys that will be hard to cut, never mind the top.
likewise S. I know this is a better DB group than any time in recent years.
