There is literally no good outcome of this. He is under constant threat of severe injury. It WILL affect his play and pocket presence.

Then you have the possibility of the organization totally mismanaging this and putting him in further danger. The talk shows are already clowning on the Chargers for letting him even go back out there last night in a 2 score game in week 2.

Do you trust the bolts to do the right thing?

Edit: this is nothing against Herbert's toughness...but he's human, nursing a painful injury that's just a ticking time bomb.

Per the Masnad Health Clinic:
Complete recovery from Rib Cartilage Injury is approximately six months because the cartilages are slow to heal since they receive little blood supply. It is advised that you rest properly and avoid strenuous activities to allow the body to reduce the inflammation of the cartilage and heal properly.

Dammit. Hopefully a pro athlete in great shape can heal quicker.
