Let's face the facts our season is done if Herbert can't come back in four weeks. He is going to have to play partially healed or the season is done. Our OC is just another Anthony Lynn type incompetent who did not have our oline fully prepared and ready to step in. There's a reason he didn't become an OC again is that he might be too slow for game dynamics.

You could argue this season has already unraveled with Herbert's injury, OL injuries and an uninspiring performance from our OC. Why make it worse and kill our franchise QB?

We already saw last night this team isn't ready to beat the Chiefs with mistake-filled football. Take the L this year, keep building, and use that high draft pick wisely next year.

I'd much rather find out whether we have backups or clowns as #2 QB. Good experiment to find out what we have. Two week rest is better than nothing at this point in time and we need to find out what we have or don't have before the midway point.

Yes I believe he had a similar injury back in 2014 and his play suffered because of it.

You'd put him behind a banged up OL? He's one hit away from a major, major complication. That's not how you protect your franchise QB.

This is going to linger all year. Shame it happened but here we are. We don't have capable back-ups so unless they're going to sign or trade for somebody decent Herbert will likely play with a flak jacket and pain killers. That's his next 6 months
