no.... the explosion of injuries is because of every CBA over the past few decades has severely limited or eliminated any contact in training camp practice or regular practice, so very very few players start a season in real football shape.....

no one plays in pre season so as soon as they get hit they get hurt.....

in the old days serious injuries were rare because they did 2 a days and hit and tackled in practice.....

and they actually knew how to tackle ...unlike many teams today that avoid tackling even in games.... lol

injuries have gooten worse as practices have gotten weaker..... lol

Marty's teams rarely had severe injuries..... Ross's teams the same rarely hurt..... the 2 toughest coaches chargers have had

Yep...I'm guessing Kroenke had his risk asessment and cost analysis accountants run a top secret report and came up with something like this:

"Worst case scenario--the Sofi artificial turf has the potential to cause between 2-5 major injuries and 3-10 moderate injuries per season per team. These injuries could potentially reduce gate revenues, concession revenues and TV revenues by between 5-15%. However, given that revenue from concerts and wrestlemania will be added to slightly sagging football revenues due to those injuries, we still project showing an overall profit margin which will more than offset said revenue reduction. Therefore, the proposal for a dual artificial and grass tray system is not recommended at this time."

Looks like Mr. Megaturf is more interested in water drainage and keeping the surface looking nice, than minimizing injuries...

This does not include SoFi, but the Kelce brothers are sounding off about a specific type of turf. NFLPA getting vocal.

Good...and they should be concerned, especially when it impacts your livelihood...

Probably is, but in Kroenke's case there is a bit more to it than you realize.

LA is chronically short on water, so rolling out actual grass is probably out of the question (unless you want a fight with the LA water district).

I don't see anyone telling the ML baseball teams and college teams to get turf because of the water.

I'm triggered because artificial turf uses petroleum products to produce thus leading to more CO2 in the atmosphere even though plants thrive on CO2. You anti artificial turf maniacs want to do destroy our world because we will have to use gas guzzling lawn mowers to maintain it. Get with the WEF program! Submit to Klaus Schaub and Bill Gates now, even though Gates is the biggest farm land owner in America.

I don't buy it. The rash of injuries have had nothing to do with contact. They are soft tissue issues. Sprains, etc. The stats clearly show that artificial turf results in anywhere from 20-30% more injuries. The Chargers used to play on grass, as did many teams. In my opinion they should look into the type of artificial turf. For example the Cowboys have been playing on turf for many many years now, Detroit as well. Do they have a problem with injuries and what type of turf have they been playing on?
