Mako, if anyone deserves some sleep, it's you.
When I can't sleep I climb stairs where I live. For some it actually makes them stay awake. But I get groggy.
Regarding sleep - there is lots of things that are suggested by experts under the heading of sleep hygiene. I've always had issues falling to sleep and the truth for me is there is no formulaic protocol to it. You need to find what works for you. Of course don't bang your head against a wall. It will put you to sleep but also cause brain damage I'm told. Meditation can also help me. In fact I can fall asleep during meditation. For Stinky-Jon-Wizzleteats....

On Monday the 18th some of my girls blood counts had actually returned to the normal range. Platelets and white cells were both still low but were not critically low and continue on an upward trend. 2 of the Dr's consulted with her, and since she doesn't live in the dorm where she can be over exposed, she has been released to return to Auburn under certain conditions. She has to wear a mask on the transit to and from campus and in class. She carries hand sanitizer with her everywhere and try's not to touch anything, but her own belongings. No going out, period. A regular sleep schedule is important. Her body is still recovering from the chemo and she does fatigue easily. She has a Dr. in the Auburn area that she will see for a weekly CBC.
She's pretty determined to not let this hold her back in any way. Dr's said they will start to wean her off the antibiotics when her white cell counts get a little higher. Nobody's used the word remission, and I don't know when that is appropriate, but she appears to be bouncing back favorably. I still worry, and its affecting my sleep, but that will pass in time. 1 day at a time.
Hopefully she follows the doctor's orders.......good news nonetheless.sigpic

Well, my girl gave it 'the ole college try'. She decided that the fatigue factor from the chemo was too much. Just doesn't have the stamina to keep up. So, rather than trash her GPA she's decided to push the semester and come home and focus on getting healthy. She spoke with the Dean of the engineering school and he got the registrar's office to waive the $100 fee per course charge so a full refund of her tuition should be coming. Auburn likes to preach "you are part of the Auburn family" and it really showed here. She'll return for the summer semester if all goes according to plan. I don't blame her for trying and I think she made the right decision. Its good to have her home.sigpic
