I think Elliot wants more $$ than EK is asking for.
Agree, I'm not big on JK3 and flat don't want Elliott. He is Past his prime.

        Yep.
It was either recess, or lunch time, out in the playground at Dailard Elementary.
Saw that same column of black/grey smoke. We were too busy playing dodgeball to take much notice though.

Me too, we could see the smoke from my elementary school in Mira Mesa.

PS my Charger fandom started with the Holy Roller happening right in front of me. I should have walked away right then...

One year deal with incentives - not sure how Zeke wouldn't be the best pure running back on the roster with Ekeler, Kelley and Spiller. Ekeler is a better 3rd down back; Kelley has not shown anything. Maybe Spiller is the untapped potential,. Fournette is washed up; the Chargers will never sign a guy like Hunt. And Moore does have history with Zeke

As for JJ3 - I personally do not feel like the Safety spot with Alohi, Woods, Webb etc - is good enough depth. It doesn't have to be JJ3 - but wouldn't mind a bit better depthj

If the Chargers are pushing the chips into the table - really can't stop now over 5m or so in future add'l cap space

Because he is past his prime.
Fournette is washed up but Elliott isn't?

I don't want either of them.
Ever think Moore don't want him either after watching Pollard clearly outplay him?

So you good with Ek Spiller and Kelley at RB - as thats the reality -- and for me the reality is not the quality needed -
you can say Elliott and Fournette are washed up - thats fine

But if the Chargers roll out the same RBs - whats going to change. Answer is - same old lousy running game

I do wish they had a #1 RB but I don't want them to spend the little $$ they have left on an over-the-hill RB.

But, I've had a different slant on the RBs than most have. I think they are pretty darn good but the run blocking has been pretty darn poor. When the RB is getting hit three yards behind the los, it's not his fault - he's not getting any blocking up front.

Sadly, I don't know yet if the run blocking will change. I sure hope it does. But, my point is that most of the great RBs you can think of need good enough blocking to at least make it to the los before they are tackled. There aren't that many Jim Browns in this world.

Add Kellen Moore's inside and outside zone blocking schemes. Pre-snap motion in multiple positions, offensive overload concepts, and weird formations.

I'll be honest, I thought Kellen Moore would get a new RB and TE in the draft too and then I stopped and remembered that the front office did the same thing to Staley when he arrived: fix the front office's existing underachieving players like Jerry Tillery and Kenneth Murray II, instead of dealing away or moving on from the player.

I'm of the opinion that Moore was charged by the front office with 'fixing' the RBs Tom Telesco (and John Spanos) have drafted. I have a very high opinion of Kellen Moore, I firmly believe he will be the next head coach of the Chargers, and conversely a very low opinion of Tom Telesco and John Spanos.

That is a fair point that the run blocking has been bad. But there is also a skillset some running backs have that they can take a small hole and get something out of it where other running backs get tackled

What if there is no hole, big or small?

I believe Roo has it correct. Our RBs are not LT, but they are good enough. But the Oline blocking is not. I expect changes due to Moore, more experience
playing together, less injuries. So expect a better run game this year over last. Of course we still don't know the final destination for Ekeler, so that's still
                        hanging out there.

That is what I saw also. And I blame it on Lombardi. Not good at setting up the run. We have enough talent on OL and RBs to be low average at run production at least, not bottom low. OC Moore can get us in a better area. Our team play design for runs was consistently inadequate.
I should add, throwing deep will loosen up LB / DB run coverage.
