If I was Herbert, I would have my agents go to Spanos right now and tell them he’s done and not reporting unless they hire a new HC and GM. Time to flex HerbertOriginally posted by PowderBill View PostHerbert needs to demand a trade to save his career from getting totally destroyed by the incompetent Chargers staff. Staley and Company are useless.

The Spanoses lack self-respect. Dean was a silver-spoon baby. John is the son of a silver spoon baby. Neither have ever had to face the real world and make it for themselves. Every thing they have has been handed to them. They didn't have to earn any of it.Originally posted by Boltgang74 View PostIt's refreshing to see so many fans finally come to recognize and accept the ugly truth about this team.Ownership is literally keeping this team from succeeding even with a top 5 QB.SpANUS clan are losers thru n thru.
49ers owner Jed York's story is similar. His grandfather made the family fortune and passed it to his children who passed it to Jed. A decade or so ago he decided he could run the 49ers better than the football people he had. He fired everyone (including Jim Harbaugh) and started running the show himself. It was a disaster, the 49ers sunk to a 2-win team. After two seasons he came to the realization he didn't know what he was doing. So he decided to remove himself from the football operations and hired football people to run the football team. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. Look at the 49ers compared to the Chargers.

Herbert needs a HC that has a killer instinct and that is going to hold him accountable. If they get a Harbaugh type, Herbert will embody Harbaughs mindset.
The only 2 candidates I will be stoked with are Harbaugh and Frank Smith. I don’t want Ben Johnson or any defensive minded HC. Those are the only 2 I trust to build from the inside out and build a good to great coaching staff.

Dean also lacks self-awareness as if by now he hasn't figured out why he is a laughingstock of the league, how many teams have nicknames like the Chargers and Chargering. Well the Bengals were the Bungles. The Bay of Pigs was Green v Tampa. Not sure the Lions had a title - but they stunk for many years.
And you nailed it with Dean and John. Dean was gifted the team; John Boy wanted to be in the NFL so his entire career is the Chargers. Not another organization. And they are clueless that they are the problem Or realize it and DGAF - which is almost worse than being clueless dolts

I doubt the Spanoses will ever admit to themselves they don't know what they are doing. Even if they did come to that conclusion, they will always put their interests (running the franchise as a jobs program for Spanos progeny) ahead of the winning.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View PostAnd you nailed it with Dean and John. Damn the Chargers are going to be $44 mil over the cap going into next year. Another reason the front office needs to go. Whoever takes over the Chargers next year is going to have a step hill to climb to get this train wreck back on track.ADOPTED BOLT: Quentin Johnson
Season: WK4
REC: 22
YARDS: 337
TDs: 4
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

So if this were a CEO of an organization with stockholders, the fiduciary responsibility would come second so John Boy can have good self-esteem being able to tell his classmates back from grade school who gave him wedgies on the playground that he is now a "VP of Football Ops" for an NFL team.Originally posted by Velo View PostI doubt the Spanoses will ever admit to themselves they don't know what they are doing. If the Chargers were a publicly traded company with stockholders, John Spanos would not be employed in any executive position whatsoever. He might land a job in the mailroom or on the janitorial staff. John Spanos has had a very sheltered life, back in the day they were the idle rich. He really has no clue about the concept of having to perform in his job or be fired. Because he can't be fired. When things become a shit show because of his lack of competence, he can fire someone else and start over again.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

If you're going to puff your chest out with a brash statement like this, it helps if you have more than 30 posts, which would provide the rest of us with a degree of context about whether you're a sane analyst, or an irrational Chicken Little. Just sayin'....Originally posted by PowderBill View Post
Absolutely missed the boat on Payton. Now Chargers have the pleasure of being torpedoed twice every year by Sean Payton
