There might be a chance to fall into the the group that will pick 2 through 4, with lots of help.

I think 6th is pretty damn good. Maybe with a little help we can get to 5th....but can't complain about 6th. It's Bowers territory or trade down territory of a team that wants a QB. You know MHJr is going in there somewhere and a LT or two and a couple QBs.

Current draft order:

This means a number of things:

(1) It is mathematically impossible for the Chargers to earn a pick any later than 8th overall.

(2) If the Bolts lose to the Chiefs next week, it will be impossible for them to earn a 1st round draft spot any later than 6th overall.

(3) Other than the Chargers' game in KC next week, two other games potentially impact the Bolts chances of getting into the Top 5:

(a) Arizona's win over Philadelphia today means that-- with a win against Seattle next week-- the Cardinals would finish with the same 5-12 mark as the Bolts, if the Bolts lose to KC as logic would dictate. I don't know how the tie breakers would dictate which club drafts first, in that circumstance. And

(b) Likewise, if the 4-12 Patriots beat the 6-10 Jets, they'd finish with the same 5-12 record as the Bolts are almost certain to.

All of the other parameters are pretty much in focus.

The thing about 6 vs say 4 is that it would take away the trade down possibilities if someone is looking for a QB, you don't want to trade down too far and miss out on one of those WRs or Bowers...but much depends on what the new staff decides to prioritize, what if improving the defense is deemed a bigger priority to the new HC/GM?

If we have the same record, we would pick ahead of them as their SOS is much higher than ours. So if AZ wins and the Giants win and we lose, we could end up 4th

I know it's way early, but this looks promising.
We can compete as soon as next season.

that schedule is beautiful. a strong draft and roster rework (cuts and free agency) and we will be ready to compete for the division.

the chargers are playing a ton of back ups at this point too, so who has the better depth? my thinking is that their reserves might still be better than ours, plus they are being coached by a HOF coach...
