Not so much OL. We had 2 successful rookie starters last year. 1sr year LAC OL coach.Nugent did OK with them and his Saints OLs were one of the NFL's best.
Also, a lot of top OL from many teams go to Manyweather's OL camp. That's a big part of what makes it good.
Chopped Liver was fired as were Nugent's predecessors.

OL, because it took Pip years to up his game to a decent level, and only after attending Summer Camp...where were our coaches for the past 3 years?

Working with someone who required a lot of help, like tons.

The collective bargaining agreement puts some limits on what players can be asked to do in organized team activities. And there are playbooks to learn, teammates to meet and bond with, etc. Duke's camp is a way for highly motivated offensive linemen to learn their craft, and to be around other highly motivated colleagues during a time during the offseason when they can focus exclusively on that stuff.

It's a great thing that Slater got involved, and is getting a few others on the team involved. Not necessarily a ding against our coaches.

No, it's actually pretty normal. Lots of guys go to "summer camp" to work on things. Herbert still works with John Beck. So do/did guys like Brady, Brees, Stafford and on and on. Lots of elite and pro bowl linemen work with Duke.

No, we got shitty ownership and shitty coaching. And KC is going to win the AFC West, pretty much uncontested, for the next 8-10 years. Probably 2-3 more SBs in that time, too. So comparing us to the Chiefs is a losing proposition of the highest order.

LOL! KC is 3-1 against Staley/ Lombardi Chargers. All 1 score games.
They can't count on that again..Odds are we are as good as KC or better in '23 with healthy players and Kellen Moore.
I'm way stoked to kick their red asses in the coming season.

Why can't they count on that again? Because we've improved so much? Because we've been a SERIOUS threat to their divisional dominance over the past 6 years? Where is all this optimism coming from...other than just being a Pollyanna? Does signing Eric Kendricks put us over the top? Maybe re-signing Pipkins and Fox is gonna make all the difference. "We're as good or better than KC". Talk about LOL! Yeah, and our record proves it. There is NOTHING in the past 6 years to suggest that the Chargers - or Raiders or Broncos, for that matter - post a serious threat to KC in the division for the foreseeable future. Management and the coaching staff are in full desperation mode, backloading contracts beyond this, their final, season so we're headed for cap hell starting next year.

All the Span-Asses managed to do after the monumental collapse in the playoffs last year is prolong the agony. We're in need of a full rebuild - hell, we're in need of new OWNERS - and maintaining most of the status quo for '23 just put us back ANOTHER year before we can even begin to hope for a turnaround.
