Oh so the Falcon's HC got a second chance (17-31 with Tampa Bay)? Right? One of the bottom feeder teams should have hired KC's DC after last season and his 2nd straight superbowl win!

I think J.K. at least would be fine if we had a line that could actually block and create a little space. Which the have done, but not nearly consistently enough.

He pissed off Herbert last night when he apparently didn't know where to line up and they had to burn a TO.

I don't know why people expect Brendan Rice to be anything special, except for his lineage. He's the Bronny James of the Chargers

True, but Raheem Morris was 33 years old when he first got the job in Tampa, and he at least had a 10-6 record in one of the years he was the Buccaneers' head coach. It took him 15 years to get his second chance. He's 48 right now, still in his prime years to be a head coach.

Steve Spagnuolo is 64 years old, about to be 65 in December. It's highly unlikely he gets a second chance as a head coach, and I don't see why any team should give him that opportunity. Some coaches are just better off as coordinators. You can put Spagnuolo in the same category as Romeo Crennel and many of Belichick's other assistants who couldn't make it as head coaches.

I don’t know if what Roman has called is the problem or it’s Herbert's decision but one or the other is to blame.

Arizona seldom blitzed last night but when they did Herbert/Roman too often didn’t have an answer for it.

I say this after every game..Herbert has to be coached to get rid of the ball more quickly in those situations. Rivers to Ekeler was a lethal play for years in these situations.

Or maybe just get a wide receiver that can actually get open?

Think about it. 3rd down and long, they are in some kind of nickel or dime package. And with our current wide receiver corps, they can't figure out how to get open, so yeah you and I would probably hold onto that ball too.

Want something to blame? Blame Telesco, the guy who butt fucked the salary cap leading to the offensive purge that happened this offseason. He's the gift that keeps on giving.

Did Telesco trade away Allen? We were under the cap and did t have to trade him. We did it because of Harbaughs ego. Allen didn’t take a pay cut so he’s not a team guy. Allen on this team would have helped us win.

This was a disappointing loss but silver lining moment, we were never going to be truly competitive this year. The moves made by H&H are not win now moves, they’re win later moves. If we can lose more and get Jeanty this team will look really good next year.

How many years did it take for him to get rehired?

Plus Spagnolo is 64 years old, and probably want to wait for Andy Reid to retire and grab the Chiefs.

Probably Justin Herbert. Rice line up in the wrong spot, and was shifted over, then shifted back, causing a called time out.

Uh, no. IIRC, the Chargers had the most negative cap situation in the NFL after last season.

Official number was 22.1 million per USA today.

When were we under the cap and could keep him?

My point is that long-term, Mike Williams will only marginally help this team offensively. Herbert needs a legit WR1 and a someone sure-handed that can pretend to be a TE1. I really don't think that's a lot to ask.
top TEs are even harder to find in the NFL than top WRs, which is why so many of us wanted Kincaid or Bowers but it's for sure the biggest reason I was up in arms when so many here were perfectly fine with Hunter leaving and had no issue with the FO not offering him a market value deal...we're still trying to fill Hunter's shoes four years later now and I know what someone will post that his average per year numbers have been so so in NE but don't tell me his numbers wouldn't have been better with Justin these last 4 years, NE has had a carousel of QBs and sheer chaos at OC that makes what Herbert has dealt with like child's play by comparison...

who is going to gift us a real TE1 before the deadline, please cal Hortiz because I'm sure he'd love to hear this information...

I was watching the game and read his lips, he yelled "you lined up wrong" and as he was walking away I think he must've gotten some feedback because he turned pointed at someone off camera and yelled "you fucked up!"

my wife and I looked at each other in surprise, I asked her if she had gotten the same message I got and she confirmed it, that's never a good thing when a player talks back to the QB after he explained to him that he lined up wrong...
